"I bought this for my Button Quails for a hideaway sleep spot, but they will not go in it to save their life! I try to put them in there, but they just pop right out! But, the finches like to go on top of it. The only problem with that is that they pull out the straw. But other than that, cute, good size, and inexpensive!"

Great for Light Chewers

"When I bought this house for my Djungarian Hamster, Eva, I wasn't sure if it would last long. The reedy roof is lightweight, and I expected her to walk on top of it and fall through it or for her to chew through it. It has now been three months since I added this to her habitat, and she LOVES it. It has become her main house. Only one of the "reeds" has broken (no doubt thanks to a tiny hamster foot), but it remains her base of operations. She spends all of her time beautifying the interior with bits of toilet paper and cotton and stores all of her seed there.
However, owners of big-time chewers beware! My hamster is a light chewer and it is probably only thanks to this that the house has not been absolutely destroyed. If your animal loves nibbling things into oblivion, this may not be the proper home for them."

Falls apart easily, but they love it.

"I would recommend this product if you don't have much of a chewer. This product cannot withstand a lot of chewing. My dwarf hamsters don't chew that much but it's still starting falling apart because they love to climb on it (only had it for about 8 days). Although these look cooler, a plastic one will definitely last longer. But my hamsters love this one so I'm glad I bought it for them. I will probably end up buying a plastic one eventually though."

"This house seems like a good idea, but my hamster went at it right away and chewed away the string that held the wall teogether within 3 minutes of putting the hut in her house. I wouldn't recommend this because it's so fragile to being chewed apart, but if your animal isn't really a biter than it'd probably make a nice sleeping spot."

"i have a gerbil named theodore. i bought this for him thinking it would go great to help make an enviroment for him. yea uh.... he ate it. gerbils always chew and chew AND CHEW so they keep their teeth smaller as you know. but hamsters on the other hand are perfect for this little hut. but i hate how it is made of straw. the doorway is tiny but yah. hamster...yes and for gerbils... pls dont buy this"

"I got this for my hamster about a year ago and at first she didn't like it. But after a week she slept in it every night! If you but this for a pet, cut up some blankets for it. All pets love blankets"

"Avery (One of my mice) loves this hut so much. It's funny because I don't think she likes it pointed a certain way, so she blocked up the entrance with bedding and goes in and out through a hole they dug in the back. My other mouse also loves tramping into the hut and they spend much of their time inside. My only complaint is I don't get to see as much of them!"

"My hamsters LOVE this little hut. 2 of them always cuddle inside it when they go to sleep...it's so cute. the other one sleeps in it occasionally, but she mostly just loves to climb ontop of it. The roof has gotten a little chewed up, but hey...they're hamsters and that's just what they do! It was only like 5 bucks and they love it so that's all that really matters =)"

"My hamster never slept in the thing, but I've now found that she just doesn't like sleeping in whatever hut-thing I buy her. Regardless, she enjoyed climbing on it and chewing it up."
