Bravo!
Date: November 19, 2009
"they like it! both cats! amazing! and my sensitive stomach baby didn't throw up. yeah!! i feel confident they are getting good nutrition now when i don't have time to prepare their whole foods diet. i would like to also respond to another reviewer who read the label and slammed the product apparently thinking crude protein is equivalent to the percent of protein in the food. pet food labels read differently. please research. By my calculation the protein in this product is 54%."

Not enough protein or meat for carnivores
Date: June 22, 2009
"Cats are by nature meat eaters, and do not need many carbs or grains. The fact that this is a grain free product is great, and the ingredients that are used are healthy as well. The company deserves to be commended for their efforts to make products; however, cats need much more meat than is provided. 5.4% protein is very low, compared to other companies that have around 10% or more. And while the ingredients are healthy, the chunks of peas and carrots are not very appetizing to cats. My kitten will eat the turkey part of the stew and leave most of the vegetables.
I think this product could be improved very easily and made even healthier and more enjoyable to cats. For one, add more meat! Cats need more protein than 5.6%. Secondly, maybe consider keeping the ingredients but grinding them up so that they are in the mix with the meat. If these changes are made, maybe it would be more satisfying to both cats and their owners. Overall, this isn't a bad choice for cats, but there are other holistic brands that offer more protein and quality ingredients in a more appetizing way."

Healthier geriatric cats!
Date: September 16, 2008
"One of my cats threw up everything she used to eat. While it took her a while to get used to Halo, she held it down, put on some of the weight she lost, and now her kidney levels are out of the kidney disease range. If you have an older cat tho, stay away from the lamb - it has too much protein. Now, I have to ration them cuz they are putting on too much weight! It would be good if Halo published the calorie content of their foods on the website. Also I agree w/ other reviewers that they could make it more appetizing - mine leave the peas. As my vet said... cats don't eat peas naturally why would you expect them to eat them cuz you put them down? My biggest complaint is the price, but if you sign up for Halo's newsletter, you get coupons/offers."

not so tasty
Date: May 23, 2008
"while I think this co. is taking a step in the right direction as far as a honest wholesome food, most cats will sniff & walk away from it.I even gave it to a small feral group of cats that I have been feeding for a few years & they ALL refused to eat it. In my quest to try & feed my own cat healthy & varied choices this canned food failed, only because CATS usually dont like veggie, split pea soup ...dogs on the other hand love this food. Perhaps if the formula is changed to peak a cats taste buds I might try it again."

"same as for the lamb -- she hates it -- won't eat (and eats almost anything) -- and it does not smell appetizing at all."

lots of flavor
Date: March 18, 2008
"so far my kitty likes all the flavors from this brand. I think he likes chicken best, then lamb then turkey, but he really licks the plate a lot after eating this flavor. I'm glad it is available in small cans too."
