"I've had this water bottle for about 3 months now, and it works great. I bought 2, one for my guinea pig and one for my sister's. They both have no problems with leaking. The floating turtle is a nice personal touch. For some reason my guinea pig likes to lie under the water bottle when he is taking a nap. It's so cute. =)"

"I was cautious about these bottles after reading all the reviews about them leaking. I always fill the water bottles to the top--all the ball in tube type tell you to do that. Neither bottle leaked when I first put it in the cage. The only one that has a lot of water under it now is in the same cage where the previous water bottle did the same thing. I'm pretty sure that Fluffy is playing in the water--some guinea pigs will do that. I like having the turtle to more easily show where the water line is. I would like it better if it were bigger and didn't come out of the bottle so easily. I almost lost the first one down the garbage disposal."

"I have two rats so I needed a bigger bottle. This one is perfect and it has the floating turtle so I can see from a distance whether they need water. Makes life a little easier :) One down side is, I had trouble at the very beginning getting NOT to drip. Problem soon resolved itself."

"Most bottles leak a bit. What you do is fill it up, screw on the cap, and squeeze it till the ball is pushed to the front and water is being pushed out in a thin stream from behind the ball. Then flip it over while also unsqueezing, creating a vaccum. I have one for two of my guniea pigs (the third has a different type of bottle.) and my robo has one too, and it works awesome. I like the turtle, to see where the water level is, which is much easier then trying to find it in other types of bottles. If the bottle still leaks, which my guinea pig one does occasionally, put a dish that they can use to push themselves up to reach the water beneath it, or put a bird dish beneath it. It'll catch any excess water and eliminate problems."

"I got this product about two weeks ago and now it drips not stop. I would not recommend this to anyone. It does not have any special no leak design. If anything, the design makes it drip more. :("

"i love how the water bottle is a simple type of style, and the turtle adds a little flare! but it also serves a purpose (to show we're the water is up to).but the thing is , it still leaks even when following the directions but not that much."

"I bought a 16oz. bottle for my two guinea pigs and so far it's been working great. I read that a lot of people had trouble with leaks...if you follow the directions you shouldn't have any. Mine hasn't leaked at all since I bought it last year. I also like that the bottle is clear and there's a little turtle to show you how much water is left. I would definately buy this product again. The only bad thing about ordering online is that you don't get to pick out your color."

Great for my mice!

"I have 2 gerbils, 1 hamster, and 2 mice. I use this water bottle for my mice. It is GREAT! A lot of people say it leaks, but you have to follow the directions printed on the back of the package. At first it leaked, but then when my mice started drinking from it, the vacuum developed and it didn't leak, but it still dispenses water when my mice need it. Great product!"

"My boyfriend has one of these for his rats. I am often the one to refill it and I've never had a problem with leaks. There are instructions right on the bottle that say you must fill it completely to avoid leaks. I believe this is true. I always fill it completely. At first, the water doesn't want to come out at all. This made me nervous, at first. Then I realized that all you have to do is give it a little squeeze to squirt out a few drops of water and start the vacuum. I highly recommend this product. In fact, I'm purchasing a couple for my bunnies."

"I bought the 8 oz version for $4.99. I followed the directions, and when I put it in the cage, it gave my hamster a shower. It had a constant drip. I returned it to the store and bought a hartz brand that was much better."

"The first day I bought this water bottle I noticed it kept leaking so I returned it and got another one of the same kind. That one lasted about two weeks and one morning I woke up to see my hamster tank was flooded. The bottle was empty and all the bedding and toys in my hamster house were SOAKED. Dont recommend."

"I was wary about purchasing this bottle after seeing so many reviews about leaks. Unfortunately, I desperately needed a new bottle and these were the only ones in stock. I bought the 16 ounce bottle and promptly read the instructions on the back. They detailed how to fill it and how to not have it leak. I followed the instructions to the letter and have not had any leak problems yet. The nice clear bottle design lets you see air bubbles rise as the pet drinks to make sure water is being released (and the turtle floater does a similar job). The included hook also keeps the bottle attached to the side of the cage well. I would recommend it if you follow the directions well to prevent/minimize leaks."

"I always like Petco products but I purchased 2 of the bottles and they both leaked the water when put up for my babies to drink. I asked for replacement and they still leak. I would not recommend this bottles to anyone."

"The large water bottle leaks no matter what I do. I am disappointed since it makes my sugar glider cage messy and I can't use it. I purchased a small one for juice and that one is fantastic. I have had problems in the past 25 years with water bottles so the large one I purchased is no worse than some others I have owned but from Petco I had hoped for better. The small one I highly recommend for any small furry friends since it is just the right size for water or juice mixtures for gliders, mice, hamsters. I love it."

"I have two. One is 8 or 9 months old, the other is 4 days old. They are both 16 ounce ones. I use them for gerbils. Only the 9 month one is a little chewed at the bottom. They use them. If its off balance, it may drip. I like the turtle but it fell out of th older one."

"I have two 16Oz bottles. A red one and a blue one. I have 3 ferrets and they all won't drink out of the red one it has me puzzled. These do drip a little when they are first filled and when they are almost empty but this is pretty normal and these drip the least vs other bottles I've tried to use. I love the little turtles in them. I srill don't understand why they refuse to use the red one I've switched it with the blue one and still they refuse. Suit themselves I don't mind. The trick with a tight seal on the bottle is when you change the water least the top (cap?) under warm/hot water and then screw in onto the bottle. This gives a very tight seal and it does help with the dripping. I started to do this and the dripping isn't so drippy now."

"I would not recommend this water bottle for ferrets. Mine carry on in their cage and they always end up knocking their water bottle on the floor out of their reach and they had to go without water till I got home. I recommend one that locks on."

"This water bottle is great, they love it! It also holds plenty of water as my little piggies drink a lot but I still make sure to refill it everyday so they have fresh water. The only bad thing is that it does slide around alot and the wire holder is not very secure."
