Purr-fect for Large Cat

"This litterbox is the perfect size for my large male cat. He doesn't like the door but I easily removed it. The generic jumbo-size liners work great with it. I don't latch the lid to the bottom as it would take some doing to work it with the liner. But the lid sits on top with no problem, that is, the cat jumps in and out without knocking it off. I received the green and beige version, which I had hoped I would as those are my bathroom colors."

"We adopted a large Tabby and the litter box that was given to us when she came to live with us was just too small. This one gives her much more room for her chubby 17 pound body. We are very happy with it and so is she. (Smile)"

"If you have a MALE kitty that does not squat and shoots straight back, then the Large PETCO Petmate Litter Pan w/Hood is the litter pan for him. There are no ridges in this litter pan to collect wet litter. The design is SMOOTH which does not collect dirty litter and the lip of the hood fits over the bottom half in such a way as to stop urine waste from leaking out the rear of the litter pan. MUCH EASIER TO CLEAN ON A DAILY BASIS AND EASIER ON THE BIG CLEANING! BEST PAN AROUND FOR A MALE."

"I have a very "busy" kitty who likes to make a big mess in her litter box (she is almost 5 months old) by pawing the litter for a long time and often, even just for play (perhaps practice). I wanted a litterbox where she can turn around comfortably enough to keep the pawing inside the box... this littter box is certainly perfect for that. It is also light inside (the lid is thin and light and allows light to come through) so that I can see what my kitty is upto. It is also very easy to clean since nothing seems to stick to the sides or the bottom (I am using crystals with clumping litter and mix it).
Cons: I have never been able to properly close the lid, so if I have to lift the litterbox, I need to lift from below. But since such lifting happens seldom (only for cleaning the entire litter box out), it is not much of a problem. Still, I removed one star for the non-functioning lid locks."

"This is the worse litter box ever. I really wanted a covered litter box because the kittens (which are now almost full grown) I got, were kicking around litter ever where.
But this box is horrible. It's way too big, and the liners do not last. My cats are tearing them up every time. And it's a waste of cat litter too.
Also the lock on the side has never worked right for me.
I really hate this litter box, and it's not worth the money.
I'm probably going to end up getting two of the van ness 'large' covered litter boxes and just deal with that. It's better than this thing. This thing is a pain!!"

"I bought the jumbo box because I have 2 cats, and one of them is fairly large. Although I like the size, the manufacturers forgot one important thing...to communicate to those making liners! There are no liners that I can find anywhere that fit this box. I have even tried large leaf bags, but they still don't fit it correctly. Therefore, the cats put holes in the bags, so you might as well not use them. I prefer using liners, so I'm going back to a smaller box! Maybe if they come out with bags that fit, I might get this box back out of the garage where it's been delegated to."

"I am sorry I wasted my money on this litter box. The latch on one side broke the second time ever I used it (when I picked it up to change out the litter), and there's no way to repair it.
Now I have to lift it from the bottom since I obviously cannot use the handle when the top's not locked in place. I am quite annoyed at having a brand new box that is broken."

"My large 20 pound, female cat loves this litter box! I would higly recommend this Deluxe-Jumbo cat litter pan to anybody who has a large cat. It allows plenty of room for her to move around and do her "thing". One draw back is you need to use alittle bit more litter, but it is worth it if my cat is happy. : )"

"The way this box lockes is no good. Easily slips and locks are not secure. Goodness forbid you try to pick this box up by the handle..you will have litter all over the floor because it is not securly locked. Second the door. The way the flap holds on is no good. Latch broke off and left the plastic door hanging. The plastic holders break off easily. Now I have to go and get another litter box even after having this box for one month at most."

"I LIKE THE SIZE OF THE LITTER BOX SINCE ONE OF MY CATS ARE QUITE LARGE. THE ONLY THING I DID NOT LIKE IS THE WAY THE DOOR FLAP ATTACHES. I AM AFRAID THE CLIPS ARE GOING TO BREAK OFF."
