"This food is wonderful! My cat had horrible gas and vomiting, I switched him to Blue Buffalo and it did not help, then i saw this and that it was grain free (which i heard was good)I bought a small bag to try and within a week my cat no longer throws up and his gas is completly gone, the litter box also smells much better.I will be back to get a 10lb bag very soon."

Perfect for my cat's needs!

"After my cat started displaying allergy symptoms, my vet prescribed a limited ingredient diet, giving me the Royal Canin Green Pea and Duck formula to try. We had great success with it, but at $45 for a 7lb bag, it was ridiculously expensive. After doing my research on which brands are known for their high quality, I took a look at Natural Balance's Green Pea and Duck formula and decided to switch my cat over. Despite being an extremely picky and light eater, she took to this food right away. Due to the high protein content and quality of the ingredients, she doesn't eat as much of it and takes a loooong time to go through a bag - and she's looking wonderful! Not only is my cat happy and allergy-free, but I can keep her that way without going broke in the process! As an added bonus, Petco seems to always have this particular item on sale in my area, so more $aving$!!! ;) I can't recommend this food (and all HIGH QUALITY pet foods) enough."

"When we first got our cat, he used to vomit several times a week; initially the vet recommended a prescription diet which didn't help whatsoever. We decided to give natural balance a try, and he hasn't have any vomiting episodes since!"

"I will ALWAYS recommend Natural Balance products, from dry food to canned food, to treats.
I feed this dry food to my Senior Cat who is 12 years old. My Vet recommended I find him a grain free, single protein based food. This is it! He really likes it, the pieces are small enough for him to chew, and they come in a 10lb bag which lasts me for several months."

"I adopted my cat a few months ago from a family friend but when I moved her from her rural home to her new home in the city, she developed a horrible skin allergy. My poor old girl was scractching her fur off in chunks! I was distraught! An animal activist friend of mine told me that skin allergies can sometimes show up in cats because of air allergies that manifest as a food allergy and that I should find her a food without grains, ash or additives. After a bit of online research, I ordered this duck and pea blend and I couldn't be more pleased! At first, my cat wasn't so sure about her new food, she's a notoriously picky (over)eater, but within a month of having no other option, she was sold! On top of completely curing her skin allergy, she no longer over weight and has a sparkle in her eye and a spring in her step that you wouldn't believe! The old girl has started acting like a kittie half her age! This food is amazing! I can't recommend it enough!"

"For several years, we had our cats (one who was diagnosed with IBS) on an incredibly pricey veterinary diet. A couple months ago, that "prescription" food went up in price to $60 a bag! Considering we were going through one and half bags a month, something had to change as it still was not making the cat with IBS feel 100%. I found this food after searching the internet and I couldn't be happier. Both cats like it and it seems to have calmed their stomachs more than the vet's food did. It is definitely worth a try for anyone thinking about switching their cats off of a vet's Green Pea and Duck formula."

Great for Cats Needing a Diet

"My situation is a tad different. I have four cats (two of which are obese). I have been trying to find something that will help them lose weight.
We had to go away for four days, so I found this product. I worried that I didn't leave enough food for my cats, only to find that they hardly ate any of this food. They all looked skinnier. I'm all for that. They used to inhale the bad stuff. If you are looking for food that your cats will eat less of, this is the product. Mine hate this stuff. They did eat some of it, but not anywhere near what they would have if it had been Friskies or another corn based dry food.
My new philosophy is that if they are really hungry, they will eat it. If it sits there for a few days, so much the better. My two obese cats were probably near 30 lbs. Now, they are losing weight so that they can live longer. They are spunkier and more full of pep."

The Perfect Cat Food

"We have 8 cats, ranging in age from 1 year to 11, with an assortment of digestive and allergy issues (and a couple of picky eaters!). After trying almost every product on the market in a search for one food all of them could eat and would eat, we have finally found it!
It seemed so much more expensive at first, but they eat a lot less of this food (a LOT less - I mix 1/4 of the large size can with 3/4 cup of dry twice a day, and that feeds 7 of them. One of our cats will only eat dry.)
Soft shiny coats, no more vomiting, no more dry skin, no more finicky walking away from the food dish and begging for something else. I love this cat food and can't imagine feeding our herd anything else ever again.
AND NATURAL BALANCE IS A CRUELTY-FREE COMPANY, which is extremely important to me, and should be to all us animal lovers."

"We rescued a brown tabby a few months ago and spent lots of money at vet and gave him the organic food we were feeding our other cat. Lets just say even after all the money spent at vet we still had a stinky kitty. I spent lots of money on air freshners only for him to keep stinking. A friend told me about this product and I did some research and found others with similar problems. Our baby has been on it for almost a month now and is doing great. He even looks better. I will buy this food from now on.

"My new kitten may be allergic to Purina kitten chow so I bought this. She ate the first bag and all her symptoms (scratching around her face etc) disappeared! The second bag was inedible and my kitten went hungry for a few days. Even my older cat who eats anything! spit it out (literally). What happened? Not worth the money!"

"We have six cats and one who was diagnosed with IBS and has been on steroids for months. We tried EVERYTHING and although we wanted to go with a prescription hypo-allergenic food as a last ditch effort, we simply could not afford the 300% price difference. After reading an article about dog chicken allergies, we decided to try this as a last ditch effort. I am happy to say that we have taken our cat completely off of the steroids and the symptoms have vanished!
Additionally, one of our other cats who often used to throw up after meals (we thought he ate so fast that he made himself sick) no longer throws up at all."

Great food for Cats w/IBD

"This is the only food my little guy can eat due to his severe IBD. If he eats ANYTHING else he gets diarrhea. He eats non-stop and still doesn't gain weight. He's under vet supervision since he was adopted and the combo of food and drugs helps with his complicated situation. He's 1 1/2 years old. This food has put the weight on my female cat that is 3 years old. Be prepared to have extremely stinky poo! I think it’s the peas in the food."

"NB was recommended to me by my vet - we have 3 cats, 1 with IBD & an allergy to chicken. Nothing else has worked for him like this food. We are thrilled with the results. When we first introduced the food, one cat wasn't thrilled. As someone mentioned in another review, probably because it is *so* different from anything we've fed them. She came around after about a week.
We've noticed a difference, for the better, with all our cats. All three have improved coats and seem to fill up faster. They don't eat nearly as much of this food as they did other good brands. The cat with IBD is doing better than he ever has.

"I have a cat with IBD, and had her on Royal Canin IVD Green Peas & Duck. Very expensive and only can get it at the vet. I mixed half of Natural Balance Green Pea and Duck with the IVD to get her use to it. Now I have her on strictly Natural Balance at half the price of Royal Canin IVD. I would recommend this for cats that have digestive issues."

"My cat, who I just found out had food allergies...after years of asking the vets why he threw up a lot...just did not like this food. I was able to trick him into eating it when mixed with Friskies Special Diet canned food. I think it was just too different from what he was used to. But, PetCo took it back without question."

"I love this food. I have a cat with bad IBD so I had all my cats on Innova Evo. They all loved it, but, they all gained weight (too much for 3 of them) and then my ragdoll (non-ibd) started vomitting up the EVO. I was scared to change because of my IBD kitty. I got a bag of this and mixed it with the Evo. They all ate it and nobody had a problem with it. Now they eat it exclusively and my ragdoll has not vomitted at all, my IBD kitty has had no bloody diarrhea (no diarrhea at all for that matter) and they all are doing great. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this keeps up! I love the Innova Evo but its so fattening and with 6 cats its hard to feed them all a set amount so I free feed the dry and then I split cans between them each day. I would prefer they eat nothing but canned but 3 of them are too picky for that. If you need grain free, give this a try!"

Best Stuff Ever

"I wish I would have found this a long time ago! My cat is 14 and has food allergies. I was feeding her Prescription Diet Duck & Green Pea for years (at a much higher cost!) and was reluctant to change b/c she throws up so easily if the food isn't just right. I tried Natural Balance and was shocked! There was no difference. She was able to tolerate it wonderfully. This stuff is worth its weight in gold to us. Highly recommend!"
