"I moved my betta from a tiny tank, one of those horrible 1/2 gallon ones that are actually made so that you can fit two uncomfortably, into one of these. Betta tanks shouldn't normally have filters because filters are noisy and cause vibrations in the water- bettas need calm water. I love this tank and use it w/o the filter. It's easy to clean and the light is good to keep the tank a bit warmer if you don't have a betta tank heater. (75-85 F is good) I got a thermom. that sticks right to the side of the tank. I only left a plant and a layer of stones on the bottom and my betta loves it. There's plenty of room."

"I have had a couple of these tanks for years. I wouldn't recommend for Goldfish. I had 1 male betta in each of mine and they lived for 4-5 years. Only downside is that one of my motors for the filer burned out and my local Petco didn't have another one. I'm not sure if they normally carry one for a 1 gallon tank. Do some shopping to see if this is the best price, but for a nice little accent to an apartment and a friendlier home for your betta I recommend this tank."

"The tank is good if your buying it to let a fish grow more then move to a bigger tank but it is excelent for bettas my betta live for about a year and probaly long but my dog knock it over and ate the fish. but the is good i wish it had a better fliter and if you know where i could buy one that fit in it please tell me

"I bought this for my sister for Christmas and she bought a Black Moor Goldfish. I know goldfish are messy but he loves the tank. The corners are a bit to small for him and his waste isnt captured in the "filter" so the water is becoming cloudy now. The filter seems to be more of a device that creats water current instead of being a filter. We bought her a filter now so the water is ok. Other than that this tank is great :D"

Great Betta Tank

"We bought this for our 8yr. old daughter and her first betta. They both love it! It was easy to set-up, and easy to clean (about once a month). The light helps keep him warm during these cold winter months and the bubbler is quiet and doesn't create too much water movement, but does help distribute the heat from the light. We added a small "Princess" tower and a tall plant and a small zebra (one of her toys). He still has plenty of room to roam. He likes to hide behind the tower and the plant and "cuddles" up to the zebra."

"The aquarium is amazing. It is wonderful, easy to clean. But, the air pump, it works well for the first day, but then, for some reason, it makes really small bubbles and it foams the top of the aquarium."

"I recently bought this tank because I have a 3" male betta and my previous 1/2 gallon tank was too small. This 1 gallon tank gives him more room to roam and he's a lot more active in it. I don't use the included pump and filter system because bettas don't like a lot of water current. I just put some gravel on the bottom along with a small polished rock. I like the small opening in the hood which makes feeding very convenient, and the bulb provides just enough light to enhance his true colors. I recommend during winter months using the Hydor Mini Heater. It's only 7 1/2 watts, is flat like a credit card and keeps the water temperature in the mid to upper 70's."

"Don't use the divider. It is too hard to get food one one side or the other.
The corners are a little too small and my fish has a hard time turning in them sometimes.

"I originally bought this tank a few years ago for my betta fish and he lived a long and healthy life in it. Now it is home to my red clawed crab. It has enough room that I can put rocks on one side for him to climb out of the water on and plenty of water for him to move around in! And the bubbler is not very strong, which is perfect for bettas."

"This is my first fish tank so I wanted to go with something small and simple. I wanted something for my cubicle to liven up my work space. I'm here at work practically ALL DAY. It's perfect! I bought a male betta fish and he loves to swim around and seems to like the space. Beats those little bowls they keep them in at the pet store!

"I loved this take I think the filter actually kept the tank cleaner, the only downside is that you have to position the cord all weird so I tossed it and now I regret tossing the filter. Also my Beta gets depressed just like people who have SAD so I turn on the light heats up the tank and my fish is 1000X happier"

"I'm betta-sitting for my daughter who has 2 betta fish. She brought them to me in small glass bowls and they seemed cramped. She said they were fine in the small bowl because that was all they've known. I bought 2 of these tanks and now they seem happy as they gleefully swim all around their new habitats! I would definitely recommend this tank to anybody who is considering it. It's awesome and is small enough that clean up is a breeze!"

"I bought this for my 2nd betta and he didn't like it at all. The bubbles from the air pump seemed to bother him, so I stopped using that. I think he was able to see his reflection in the corners - he would attack the corners of the tank. Either that or he's just weird. Either way, I ended up buying him a "Betta Garden Bowl" and he's doing great."
