Great for smart/active dogs

"I bought the XXL kong for my dog and I use it for her meals. It helps get some of her energy out every morning and night. The only downside is that it doesn't take her long to get the food out. I recommend putting peanut butter in the opening to keep her occupied a little longer. It's a great product for active/smart dogs."

"My super powerful chewer (Lab mix) loves Kong toys, but has gotten to the point that he can tear up most of the shapes they offer. This one is holding up beautifully and will definitely order a second one as an outside toy."

"This toy is the most perfect toy for dogs who like to chew! I was surprised when I adopted my dog because she is large but not huge, but when she destroyed a very heavy duty tug rope within two hours, I realized we needed something more industrial. The first time we gave the Extreme KONG to her with peanut butter in it, she spent over an hour with it. Excellent for strong chewers and very active dogs!"

Awesome Kong for a seriously destructive chewer

"Cinnamon, our pit bull mix mutt, destroys toys. And sprinkler heads, and rubber garden shoes, and the Zoom Groom we got for giving her scrubs at bathtime. In fact, I can confidently leave *out* the object and just say "she destroys." Anything she can get her paws on. I'll be playing with her, I'll sit down to do something, and half an hour later I'll realize I left her chewing on the Good Cuz / Tuffie / (insert toy of choice here)... and I look over and the Cuz is missing a foot, or the seams are gone on the "SUPER TUFF" ballistic nylon toy and there's stuffing everywhere.
So far we've had zero problems with our black Extreme Kong toys. The red ones, which we bought in mid-May when we first brought Cinnamon home, are beginning to show signs of wear; the black ones are still dent-free after more than a month of chewing. I can confidently leave her to gnaw on these for as long as she'd like, and I know I won't find little fragments of rubber sprinkled on her bed. Plus, of course, there's the fabulous "lick-it-out" aspect; I crush some dry treats, mix them with peanut butter, and I know she'll be kept occupied for a while... long enough for me to go grocery shopping or run a few errands. She absolutely LOVES her Kong toys."

"I have a pitbull he is about 5 years old and I can NOT find him a yoy that he does not chew I heard about Kongs and have tried several of then and he demolishes them so I tried a Extreme Kong and he chewed about 30 min and it is now in about 12 different pieces...."

"I own two good sized dogs one is an 80-pound Labrador mix and the other is a 70-pound German Shepard mix they both love their Kong’s. We have an XL-Extreme Kong and a XL-Regular Kong both dogs love them. Our lab mix destroys toys and once he gets bones and rawhides small enough he swallows them but he has not managed to chew through the Kong and there is little worry that he will choke. Our Shepard mix loves how the kong bounces. Great toy for moderate chewers."

"I have 3 pitbulls ranging from age 2-5. This is the ONLY toy they have not killed yet! They love when I put treats in it for them, but also play with it empty. I highly recommend this for anyone that has very destructive animals. I tried the red kong but the size was too small, even the large one, and it was destroyed within 2 weeks. But even that was better than the normal destruction time which was about 10 minutes."

"I purchased this kong, because my lab loves to chew, it's the only thing that can keep him calm. Every rubber toy I bring him he destroys so I decided to try the Extreme Kong. I had high hopes, however within ten minutes he was pulling pieces of it apart. I must say this toy did last about 9 minutes longer than the rest. But for the price I expected more. He does enjoy the way it bounces around but I am constanly picking up pieces of rubber. I read other reviews and pitbull owners suggested buying a tire, which is cheaper than some of the toys I have bought, to chew on he has such a strong jaw that the tire may work. However, I think I will stop wasting my money and stick to nylabones which he likes and can't destroy, they just get so dirty, and he also likes sterilized shin bones, filled or unfilled, that they sell at Petco they are so cheap and keep both my labs entertained. If your dog is a varacious chewer I would suggest either the nylabone or the shin bones. Everything else is destroyed to quickly and they really like the bones"

"Diesel (my 2 year old pit bull) absolutley loves this toy! he knows it by name! It is the only toy that will last ober 2 days! (this kong lasts about 1-2weeks) He has learned when he has treats in it if he jumps on top of the couch and drops it the treats will break and come out! ha but he loves his kong!"

"This is great for any aggressive chewers. We often stuff it with peanut butter when we have to leave Rosa alone, or for long car trips. She loves it. It is extremely durable and after a year only has a few small cracks around the edges. Definitely a worthy investment for pit owners."

"I gave it to him and with 10 minutes he had the rubber around the larger hole ripped to shreds. However, my smaller pit bull loves Kongs and will be inheriting Boss's toy. I'll get Boss a deer antler chew and a tire chew toy (I recommend these as alternatives!) as he has bad reactions to bones, but I love Kongs anyway and even bought my brothers dog a Kong for his doggy birthday."

"I have 3 of these for my 60lb pit bull. She (Ginger) absolutely loves them. She plays and bounces and enjoys herself tremendously. Also, for some "puppy down time" you can fill the Kong with wet food and freeze it solid. Ginger loves this treat and will lick on the Kong for about an hour to get the frozen food out. If you freeze it well, there is no mess either."

"I have a 115 pound male pit bull. He LOVES this toy. He chews it every day and it lasts for about months. For $20.00, I cant beat the price. There is no other toy out there that my pitbull cant chew up. He even chews truck tires for fun. HIGHLY Recommended."
