"I have a cockatiel who is housed in an absolutely enormous cage. I have a lot of perches, but I was afraid of overcrowding him, so improvised by making an extra long perch out of a couple of these perches. They work great, because they're extra bendy so I can shape them to go up or down, and he can get a great view of the entire room, while exercising his feet. I ended up installing a couple on the outside of the cage as well, so that he can come out of the cage into the room while I am not home and really enjoy himself. The only thing to watch for with these perches, is that after being used and washed multiple times, the rope can start to come apart, and they need to be thrown out right away, or the bird can get caught in the strings and really hurt themselves."
