"I bought this when my Marineland C-360 leaked a third of the 55 gallons on my bedroom floor on a third floor apartment complex. At that time, there was no filter for 2 days in my loach tank so the water was awful. This Eheim filter cleaned up everything in like an hour.
I now keep it along side the replaced Marineland C-360 (for 100g) in case the C-360 leaks again. The classic Eheim is for up to 159g, but it doesn't seem to be as strong. Probably because of the spray type head it has.. which is another thing I like. Unlike other spray heads, it has a long tube with holes. The water comes out of these holes. If you don't like the sound, hold it with the 2 suction cups under the water. I put mine diagonally on the back wall. When I hear a sound, it reminds me to fill up the water."
