"I bought this when my Marineland C-360 leaked a third of the 55 gallons on my bedroom floor on a third floor apartment complex. At that time, there was no filter for 2 days in my loach tank so the water was awful. This Eheim filter cleaned up everything in like an hour.
I now keep it along side the replaced Marineland C-360 (for 100g) in case the C-360 leaks again. The classic Eheim is for up to 159g, but it doesn't seem to be as strong. Probably because of the spray type head it has.. which is another thing I like. Unlike other spray heads, it has a long tube with holes. The water comes out of these holes. If you don't like the sound, hold it with the 2 suction cups under the water. I put mine diagonally on the back wall. When I hear a sound, it reminds me to fill up the water."

"I strongly agree with the majority of reviews. Best filter on the market. So easy to set up, so easy to use. I only got it 2 weeks ago, the water is so crystal clear. This filter is not quiet...it is silent! I got an awsome deal on it here at petco on-line, still pricey, but sooooo worth it. Seems like reading the reviews of the people who did not like it, they just do not know how to read instructions. I also have a red eared slider and dreaded the cleaning process. I love this eheim filter. Better for the turtle, the human and the environment. The germans make a great product."

"I own an Eheim 2217 and it is a great filter all around. Dead silent but puts out great flow. Nice quality too. I read alot of reviews before purchasing my Ehiem and now I know I made the right choice."

"we bought this in december and it already is not working. Had problems priming it since the first day we set it up. We have 2 red ear slider turtles and this is not a filter to use for them. The directions are horrible, the booklet is ablut 20 pages and one page is actually english. can't get our warrenty looked at. would never recomend this to anyone who owns a turtle tank."

A great Investment for any tank

"I own the Eheim 2215,and I've used it both on Tropical tanks,and as a 2nd filter on my goldfish tanks,and I love it!!
I like the fact that I can stuff them with so much more filter media,and that filters can be rinsed in old tank water and restored to life again.
I've only had one problem,and that was when my cat was chasing a group of Dojo Loaches in the tank,and somehow managed to loosen a hose.I had 49 gallons of water on my floor,and about 1 gal. in the tank.Since that ,I'm definitely paying a lot more attention,and have made it where that won't happen again.That wasn't any fault of Eheims,just a fat cat who got bored."

"Eheim makes quality filters - I use a variety of them on my planted freshwater tanks including this model. They are easy to clean and work well with in-line CO2 injection. The tubing is metric is it is easy to fit to ADA glass intake and output hardware."

"we have 4 RES all housed in a 95-100 gallon tank, and we went thru like 8 filters in a week ( thanks to petco for the in store credit ) and we finally got this one, after we got it home it took less than 15 to set up and get it up and running, talk about quiet, in fact, the only way i KNOW it is working is when i can see the water come out of the return LOL.. i clean the filter white thing about 1 time per week, and the media ( the brown balls) i have never had to replace, we have had this filter over 1 year, and love it, we have made the return into a waterfall for our turtles and they love getting a "bath" as they come out of the water."

"I just purchased an Ehiem classic 2215 for my 55 gallon aquarium and absolutely love it. It is the most quiet filter system I've ever used. I went with this system to replace my "old tech" undergravel system to eliminate the problems I was having with excessive Nitrate. It is very simple to set up (even though the instruction book is near useless). The photos on the outside of the box provided all the needed set-up information.
I highly recommend this product."
