"I have a female betta and I had planned on using this tank as temporary housing during travel and water changes only because of its small size. I was suprised however by how well my betta took to it. When I put her in for a water change, she immediately started swimming around and blowing air bubbles at the top of the tank, which she had never done in her old tank. And she loves swimming in and out of the plant that comes with it too. So I ended up keeping her in it and she loves it. I would not recommend keeping more than one fish of any size in it, nor would I recommend putting a male betta in it as they tend to be quite a bit bigger than the females, but for ONE female betta or ONE smaller fish (such as a guppy), it works out pretty well. If you are going to use it for a betta, I would recommend getting a heater for it to keep the water at around 75 degrees (there are smaller, standing heaters you can buy) as well as a light (I believe they sell one made for this tank) to keep your fish happy. It does take more maintance than larger tanks since it gets dirtier quicker, so I would recommend feeding flake food that doesn't sink so it's easier to scoop out if your fish doesn't eat it all (the smaller betta bits sink into the gravel and are nearly impossible to remove). A small aquatic snail is also a nice addition to help keep the tank clean (and my betta girl loves swimming circles around my snail). Overall, I am extremely (and suprisingly) pleased with this tank. Though it may require a few additions, it is a good product and the colors are wonderful and look great. The only reason I gave it a 4 rating is because of its size, which did work out well for me, but I honestly think it is too small for a male betta."
