Love it!
Date: May 5, 2008
"I decided to get a betta for my 2 year old daughter since she has been asking for a pet and at this point in time a dog is out of the question. When looking for a tank I came across this kit...I thought it was a good bargain for the price. I also figured...the betta was already living basically in a plastic cup in the store anything bigger would be a vast improvement. Sure enough the tank is wonderful. Easy to clean...easy to use. My betta seems very happy and he keeps blowing bubbles everywhere which asures me he is happy. I would recommend this kit to anyone. The only thing I would like to get is the light...unfortunantly the store didn't carry it."

Don't Clean
Date: March 5, 2008
"I just purchased one of these tanks at my local PetCo for the home of a new Betta, but being the person I am I wanted to make sure it was clean. Because of the research I did any type of cleaner was NOT used, so I went with only a hot tap water rinse and soaking. The bowl cracked the length of one side like it was in an earthquake, and became un-usable. I have not been able to find any information about cleaning or initial do and do not procedures for this product, and there is no contact information noted to call or write for information or complaints. Be very carefull with this product, and I hope you have better luck than I."

So-so, but not enough space.
Date: March 1, 2008
"I put my betta fish in the Marina Betta kit tank, and although he was okay, I felt the space was too small (it's half a gallon). I returned it back to Petco and instead put him in a large vase, around 2 gallons. He is far more active now, and I'm sure a lot happier too. Although Betta are okay in smaller containers, they're better off if you put them in a 1 or 2 gallon tank."

Great for a betta!
Date: February 4, 2008
"I got this as a gift when I got my first betta. I liked how cute it was and it came with everything I needed. It's sturdy acrylic so I wasn't worried about breaking it during cleaning. I have my bettas in their own aquariums now so I no longer use it to house them, but it comes in handy when I'm doing tank cleanings. Makes a great betta kit for a kid or teenager too."

Great for beginners
Date: January 8, 2008
"I used to breed betta's, but gave up the practice once I had achieved all the colourations I wanted.
This tank is not for breeding, it is for a single betta only!
Recently I had got this tank as a gift, and it looks amazing! It is constructed of a thicker plastic, and comes with an attached coloured lid. I had the purple, because the betta I put in it was a purple/blue and he looks great in it! My only set back is that the food is flaked, where betta's prefer pellets and the water conditioner runs out only after a few uses.
This kit is great for beginners, but does not include a fish net. I highly recommend this to someone who has children or is a beginner in fish keeping.

Perfect for the office
Date: January 8, 2008
"I recently switched careers and now I have my own little cubicle. I just purchased this tank for my desk and I love it! It looks great and my betta "Gillford" loves it. too! He swims in/out of the decor plant that suctions fast to the bottom and he swims around blowing air bubbles and looking at his reflection in the plastic/clear shell decor I put in. I would def recommend this tank and fish for anyone in an office who needs some stress relieving throughout the day;)"

He enjoys this tank because it is big enough to where he can roam around and see everything around him. the package says that you can purchace the coustom light and---You need to(especially if the room is below roomtemp). the display will fit into any room decor and looks nice. the plant is also very pretty(although plastic) whatever you do do not croud the fish or he will not be too happy"

Waste of money
Date: November 29, 2007
"Firstly, Bettas shouldn't be put in such tiny living spaces. If the requirements for a tank is 1 gal per inch of fish then why isn't that the same for Bettas?? Secondly, my betta HATED this tank and it showed in her fins. She turned dark and sad and never ate any food she was given. When I added her to the 10 gal tank w/ my mollies they all got along perfectly and I had the net at the ready just in case. She's been fine with all the other fish. No fish deserves this tiny prison cell. Pros: it looks ok"

Good Product For a Good Price
Date: October 28, 2007
"I bought this for my betta Louis and at first i thought it might not be big enough but he seems to have room to move around. Its very easy to clean and move and the lid keeps Louis from ending up lunch for my cats. Its a good size for a desktop. I didnt like the rocks it came with so i replaced them. The plant it comes with is a pretty good quality and wont detach from the bottom of the tank which is always nice. Overall, a little small but a great choice for convenience."

The Best little aquarium for you money
Date: August 4, 2007
"I bought this aquarium for my 3 year old son and he loves to watch our Beta fish in this small tank that can be picked up and moved to spot to spot. It has stayed clean for a good 6months with me only adding clean water that has evaporated and gotten low. I don't know why this tank stays clean so well, but it does. Plus we got everything we needed to take care of the fish with it. All you need is to buy the fish. It seems like the fish was a lot happier to swim around the colorful rocks and plastic plant that was provided than a empty bowl with nothing in it. I am very pleased and we'v had our Beta for a year now which is the longest we've ever kept a fish alive. It's a keeper!"

You don't need to buy anything else for them, and it's a cute lime green color, to go with your decor.

I was suprised by this tank
Date: March 23, 2007
"I have a female betta and I had planned on using this tank as temporary housing during travel and water changes only because of its small size. I was suprised however by how well my betta took to it. When I put her in for a water change, she immediately started swimming around and blowing air bubbles at the top of the tank, which she had never done in her old tank. And she loves swimming in and out of the plant that comes with it too. So I ended up keeping her in it and she loves it. I would not recommend keeping more than one fish of any size in it, nor would I recommend putting a male betta in it as they tend to be quite a bit bigger than the females, but for ONE female betta or ONE smaller fish (such as a guppy), it works out pretty well. If you are going to use it for a betta, I would recommend getting a heater for it to keep the water at around 75 degrees (there are smaller, standing heaters you can buy) as well as a light (I believe they sell one made for this tank) to keep your fish happy. It does take more maintance than larger tanks since it gets dirtier quicker, so I would recommend feeding flake food that doesn't sink so it's easier to scoop out if your fish doesn't eat it all (the smaller betta bits sink into the gravel and are nearly impossible to remove). A small aquatic snail is also a nice addition to help keep the tank clean (and my betta girl loves swimming circles around my snail). Overall, I am extremely (and suprisingly) pleased with this tank. Though it may require a few additions, it is a good product and the colors are wonderful and look great. The only reason I gave it a 4 rating is because of its size, which did work out well for me, but I honestly think it is too small for a male betta."
