"I had my betta Norman in a 1 gallon tank by himself and decided I wanted something bigger for him so he could have some "friends". I choose this tank after reading all the great reviews about it. I got the Neptune Blue, which is beautiful in my blue themed room. I also went with other recommendations and got the Red Sea Nano Filter which is smaller than the filter provided and does not take up as much space inside the tank, it's like it's not there! Norman just loves swimming around in all the room and I am enjoying it's beauty myself. Perfect for a room or office. A must have for a betta or a few smaller fish!"

"I bought this aqueon 5 gallon tank and it looks nice with a quiet hang-on filter and a light on the hood and it also have a feeding door on the hood.
The hood have a cut-off hole for an upgrade (outside hanging) filter but the bar that you hook the original filter is blocking the way, so that cut-off hole is for nothing. The only way you can upgrade the filter is if you saw off the bar that is blocking the way which is not so easy to do. The replacement cartridge for the filter is hard to find in local stores here in Hawaii. They carry a replacement cartridge on petsco. If you want to buy a space saving aquarium I would suggest that you look for something else. There is a serious design flaw on this one."

"I purchased my Mini Bow from the store after viewing it online and I've had it four days now. The filter is very quiet and the size of the filter doesn't bother me at all. I've spent a lot of money buying equipment that didn't pan out. This is the Best investment I've made since I purhcased my first fish a year ago. Some may consider it a starter kit for beginners, but it's the perfect size for my apartment and it looks great."

"I've only had my tank a few days. It costs a LOT. Found out after purchasing it you can find tanks for 5 gallons with all set up items included for almost half the price. However, I went with this small gem because it had fairly good ratings on here and I needed a small tank for the location it is at.
I put my sole surviving male guppy in it immediately. (Less than 12 hours after setting it up) Would not recommend this for most fish as the tank still needs to cycle. It was an emergency situation on my part...let my guppy die in the bowl with high toxins in the water or risk him in a brand new tank with a possibility of surviving!
This tank is too small for goldfish despite advertising. Goldfish produce a LOT of waste. However, a couple guppies and smaller fish species should be fine in here or a single beta. (If you have a divider you could have 2 beta)
The pump is LARGE. But it works efficiently. The other tanks I looked at didn't have a pump/filter at all or they had one that looked pretty cheap. This one may take up space, but I feel guaranteed it's doing a fine job cleaning!
Also, the pump is quiet. The lid seems to fit awkwardly on top the tank with pump in it. (Weird) Occasionally if messed with much the lid will vibrate. I just tinker with it until it quits and then there is a low hum emanating from the pump only which is quite soothing in my opinion."

First ever Fish

"My sister came to live with me and brought her two Betta's and so I bought me a Betta and this All-Glass Aquarium. Now my sister wants to get one each for her fish that I named since she didn't. She was told that the betta's didn't need a filter system, but when she saw how my tank is staying cleanner longer and he is more active, that is all it took. The filter that comes with is perfect for me. I read the reviews so I did buy the Red Sea Deco Art Nano filter. It goes on the outside of the tank so if the fish tank lid covers the top totally then you will be without a lid to cover the tank to keep dust out or a cat if you have one. Also there is on the Red Sea filter where it says to fill your fish tank water up to here once you have placed it on the tank. So, by doing that you have about an inch and half less water from where you fill the fish tank with. The All-Glass aquarium has an opening in the back to accomodate for filters to clasp to. Now the Red Sea makes barely any sound, but the whisper one that comes with the tank is just that, a whisper. On the back side of it one can slow the amount of water to decrease the sound. The Whisper filter does go inside but it looks fine. I put mine to the left but left room from the edge and my Betta Tex just loves going around up and under it. The only thing I don't like about it, if I want to increase or decrease the water flow I have to take the whole thing out which I have to get a butter knife to dislodge the suction cup. I also bought a blue light so it wouldn't be so bright on Tex. The light does have a shade cover but it still seemed to bright. I like the bright light so I can see Tex swimming around but I believe Tex likes the blue better and I still can see him good enough. I am using the Red Sea Deco Art Nano filter on my sister's 1 gallon tank until she gets the new tanks. I notice it takes longer to clear the water, plus since it is so small one has to change the filter every two weeks where the Whisper is 4 to 6 weeks. Also I read everything and found out one will need to take the filter apart once in awhile and clean it also, otherwise it can get bogged down. Betta's are easy to care for but a little extra makes them thrive better."

"I have owned this for 2 mos. now i have the red one and i must say this is one of the best creations out there. I am amazed on how small but user friendly this tank is, the 2.5 Minibow let's you save up some space because it's size is managable you can literally put it anywhere in the house, apt. etc. just not outside your porch lol anyways in mine i have a dwarf gourami, a red betta male, a dwarf african frog and an upside down catfish i had them for a long period of time so for you guys that are saying that bettas can't live with other fishes besides it's own kind then i guess your wrong read your handbooks again cuz this is for keeps!
*Although one flaw of this tank is the internal whisper filter that came with the package it's just way too big for the cage and it will take away a lot of space fro decorations in the tank that is why i got the Red Sea Deco Art Nano Filter!!! it's a superb filter for these kind of cages plus it's not noisy and it even created bubbles/aeration inside my tank! get this...the 2.5 Minibow tank, some decorations, some community fishes (ask associate in the pet store if you still can't decide on what to get ) the deco art nano filter and that's it and your a happy owner of an amazing mini aquarium set-up!"

"i bought this tank maybe a month ago for my betta fish and as soon as i moved him in, he loved it. for the first few weeks everything works great: the light keeps them warm and active and the filter works pretty good. but i do have to agree with some other reviews because just a day or two ago the filter has been not doing a great job. but there are other different filters you can purchase to replace it. its perfect if your little fish loves to swim around."

"Love this kit - our first betta has a good amount of room to swim and although I got a red sea nano filter for him I've heard the Whispers are pretty good (I wanted something a little smaller and with a bit less current). I got the purple one and it plays off our little fishie's colors very well. Easy access for feeding and the light's not too hot either. Recommended!"

"The only reason I didn't give it 5 paws was because the filter is ginormous. But I did read the other reviews and so I knew to buy the little deco nano filter at the same time - which added big time to the cost of the aquarium but I needed a small tank.
Mine didn't come with a Betta separator and it looks a little different than this photograph, no blue plastic on the bottom.
The lighting in this tank is the best I have had."

"I would just like to say.. I have enjoyed this product very much. The two fish that I won at the carnival love it. They seem really happy. I also like the tank as well. "We have 2 female bettas in this tank and they love it. We also added the Hydor mini heater and the temp stays at 78 degrees. The girls are active all day and seem very happy. Ths is very easy to maintain and we recommend it to everyone who has bettas."

"My fantail is starting to adjust to this new tank and is doing very well. The tank is very sturdy once you add rocks and gravel. The filter started working right away. I liked how it came with trial food and water conditioner. My new fish likes this tank. Tomorrow I'm going out to get some decor and plants for my fantail. Larger fish should not be in this tank though- only for one to three- maybe- small goldfish. When they get bigger, you'll have to switch. I'm very happy with this tank and it looks great on my desk- the light is wonderful! Great tank for smaller fish!"

"We've had two of these tanks for over two years and kept one betta healthy in each for that long. There is plenty of room for your betta, filter, thermometer, heater, decoration/cave, and plant or two. The light works well tho one switch broke but I just plug/unplug and it still works fine.
Some come with undergravel filters, I would try to get the ones with the separate filters or buy a separate micro filter as the undergravel filter is more trouble for betta water changes.
Our betta's have thrived and when they have gotten sick occasionally I was able to nurse them back to health in this tank as well.
I am now purchasing three more of these tanks so I can house more exotic betta's because these tanks are so easy to maintain and the betta's so beautiful!"

"My husband and I got this for our bedroom so we each could have our own fish. Not only are they fun to watch, especially playing in the bubbles, but it is very relaxing. They have so much room to swim in and the bubbles and filter keep the tank cleaner and the fish are healthier."
