"I tried to use this for my rabbit cages and it makes a bloody mess. They get it stuck in their fur and they kick it out. Or when you pick them up the bottom of their feet are covered in it (and now so are you). I would not recommend this product."

"This is the best bedding I have ever purchased! My dwarf hamster, Lola, enjoys burrowing and digging in this bedding. I also like that it helps block odor and it is environmently friendly! Dont get a second thought about this product just buy it!"

"Kaytee Soft-Sorbent is a pretty good product... however, it can be kind of messy. When my bunny jumps out of his litter box, he gets this stuff all over the place. And when he is out of his cage, he tracks the soft-sorbent all over the house. It is practically dust free and absorbs great with no odor. I do think I will try something that's not so messy for his litter box. I would recommend this product because it's inexpensive and works well."

"i wasnt really impressed, i got the rose pink color one and the small pieces of rose were prickely and my hammy tried to eat them all. It isnt as soft as carefresh, and my ham likes to burrow in carefresh, and hasnt burrowed once in this stuff."

"This product is soft and absorbent, and it doesn't contain harmful chemicals like pine and cedar do. The problem is that my gerbils cannot burrow into it, and they instinctively want to create burrows. I will be switching to aspen bedding to accommodate this."

"I love this bedding! I used to use carefresh now I use this because with carefrresh I only get 2 cleanings for 8.99. And I get 7 cleanings with soft-sorbent for the same price!"

"I adopted a hamster it came with this, I knew he already was used to it so I cleaned his cage put it in and also mixed it in with some carefresh. My hamster just diggs into it and sleeps all day!"

"I love this product. I buy the regular soft sorb rather than the colors, but I did purchase pink for Beauty Bunny's cage for Easter. My daughter was so surprised that the Easter Bunny had changed the bedding to pink for Easter and Beauty Bunny looked so pretty in it. I tried to edit my remarks on the plain soft sorb - and wasn't permitted. So here goes.....For the people who complain that their animals are digging and kicking it out. -This has helped us alot. I purchased a corner litter box, and I use "Yesterday's news" in that. It is pellet shaped like rabbit food, is heavier than the soft sorb. I put the little box in the corner of the cage that Beauty bunny was already using as the bathroom, and she immediately started using the litter box. She rarely kicks the litter out, and I scoop it each day and throw the used litter out in a plastic grocery bag, and toss in a new scoop or two to replace what I just scooped out. This keeps the cage even cleaner! Beauty Bunny uses the litter box 100% of the time for #1, and 90% of the time for #2. I only have to swap the bedding in the cage about every two weeks or so - usually because it looks messy with a few pellets, and lots of timothy hay . I use an old metal scoop from a "Fry Daddy" as my previous experience with plastic scoops and heavy wet litter weren't great. This system seems to be working great for our family. People even comment that it doesn't smell like a small animal farm or litter box even though Beauty Bunny resides in the family room. Good luck - hope that this helps other people with the "kicking bedding out" problem. PS. I just added the image, and noticed the wires & outlet/plug - the look is deceiving - NO,....BEAUTY BUNNY CAN NOT CHEW THEM - the cage is about 6 inches out from the wall for that reason - she can not get to the wires, and when she is out of the cage - we block the ingress and egress so that she can not get behind the cage to chew them either!"

"I have a dwarf hamster and she is allergic to wood shavings, which I used to give her (until I found out). I got this bedding because it is recycled paper pulp, and it has no dust. I was very happy with this bedding and it is comfortable for Roho. The only small problem the bags are very hard to pour from, but it's okay. This is a really great product. I would definitely recommend it.

Softsorbent vs. carefresh

"SOFTSORBENT VS. CAREFRESH...SS wins!!!
Origonally I only used carefresh bedding, but then I saw that softsorbent was cheaper and I read all the good reviews, and it's amazing!
For the same price of the other guys, this bedding lasts longer and covers more space.
I use less than 5L for my 30x16x14 cage, so even a 10L bag lasts me a long time. I have 3 cages, one large, one medium and one small...and a 10L covered all 3 cages and there was even a handful of bedding left.

They are completly dust free, so it is perfect for sensitive or allergenic animals. Caution though, sometimes there are twigs and leaves in the bags, because this bedding is made from recycled plants and paper...so I have never had a problem with it, but if your pet has allergies, check it out before using it.
Although I don't really like this for hamsters because they kick the bedding out, this is amazing for guinea pigs!!
Soft on the feet, and absorbs liquids and smells. After a week of use, the bedding still doesn't smell, but for safety reasons you should change bedding every week.
Comes in many colours, origonal which is a creamy colour(the one I use), pink, purple and blue. There are even scented ones at certain petstores. Those include mint(green), lavendar(purple) and rose(pink). The scented ones are very fient, so its not really worth it, unless you want it just for the colours.
I highly recommend this product to anyone with small animals or birds."

"This stuff really works i had tried so many litters and bedings i was tired of my animals cages smelling after just one day then I found this stuff my cages didn't stink any more my animals love to play in it its soft so it dosen't hurt thier feet like some of the others i had tried this stuff rocks if you ask me if you should get it i would say yes"

"This is a great product. I really like this for my four rats. it keeps odors down quite well! I really like the price but the inly thing is that it's not very warm for winter. So I use a mix of a more expensive bedding and this in the winter. I really like the color options it adds a little bit of splash of excitement and change to my rats cage overall I recommend this product to people. Especially to people in warm places that don't have very many pets!"

"SS and LJ absolutely hate this bedding. I too thought the bedding was going to be like CareFresh BUT it was little pebbles.
They kick it out of their cage and its a mess to constantly clean this up, its all over their stand and floor.
I also give them Kaytee Yogurt Chips berry blend which are blue and I purchased blue bedding without thinking. The poor little guys refused to eat their treats as I had confused them with the blue bedding {my mistake} They must have tried to eat the bedding at one time in order to refuse their favorite treat.
However, I will say that the odor was absorbent as it claims but for my little guys it was a huge mistake and I will not purchase this product again.

"I really like this bedding, not just because of the color, but also because of its consistency. Seems to be almost dust free, compared to shaving beddings, which is great for those with sensitive allergies. Also I really appreciate the resealable top on the bag. No more unexpected messes should the bag get knocked over where I store it!"
