This timer works perfect. I bought it so when I go out of town I don't have to worry about getting someone to turn the light for my bearded dragon on and off... Love it...

THE ITEM I RECIEVED WAS MODIFIED ..THE SAFETY COVERS HAVE CHANGED FROM A SLIDING COVER TO A ROUND ROTATING LOCKING COVER TO PROVIDE GREATER SPLASH PROTECTION TO OUTLETS. THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE FOR THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENMT...SO I CANT GET IT TO ROTATE OR WORK AT ALL...VERY CONFUSING...WILL TAKE IT TO THE STORE TO HAVE THEM FIGURE OUT HOW TO ROTATE THE COVER AND GET IT TO WORK.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The directions were slightly confusing. It took me a while to understand that the timer switches are actually on the dial. They are kind of hard to move up and down as well. But once I got it set up it seems to work fine.
I got this to regulate my ball pythons day and night lights and it seems to work great. It will also be nice if I go out of town for a couple of days.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I did a fair bit of review before purchasing. I was looking for a timer that would switch between the day/night heat lights on my daughter's geckos cage. I run the daytime heat light from 7am-7pm and the nighttime from 7pm to 7am. It does exactly that and automatically!! It will not run both lights at the same time but in our case that wasn't something we needed.
If you read the instructions it's fairly straighforward to setup, works perfectly no complaints. I decided on the analog vs. the digital due to the battery that runs the digital clock. I figured the analog once set should work forever (baring any power outages).
I would recommend this to a friend!

we ordered the because it was a digital timer in the photo, but when it arrived it was an analog time. we wanted digital for the easier set up.

I bought it to put my turtle terrarium on a more regular schedule and I love it. I no longer have to figure out how long to leave their lamp on to simulate daytime anymore.
The instructions were a bit confusing at first for the timer and the little tabs are a bit hard to push up/down individually.
Also, having a timer is a really good idea for if you ever go on a trip overnight or for a couple of days. just set the timer, leave some food (like feeder fish for a turtle) and your pet is all set!

After getting over the initial "okay, how do I work this," I found this to be a great item. As most of you know, bearded dragons require temperatures of over 100 degrees for at least ten hours of each day. Well, with this item, if I wake up late or stay out late at night, I don't have to worry about turning things on and off! All you do is set the timer and it automatically shuts off (or turns on) items you have set to be turned off or on at a specific time of day. (There are also outlets for lights or items that are to be left on constantly.)
This item is a must-have for reptile owners!
