"The name of this litter is so correct...Odor Alert ! I bought this for my 2 new kittens. When they used the box, the odor was atrocious. It seemed fine, but when used, theres a terrible odor. The blue crystals were tracked all over the house. I couldn't wait to finish the box and try something different. I would not recommend at all."

"Admittedly, I have not entirely committed myself to using this litter full-time (as I am still determined to try several other brands before settling on one sure thing), so far, this litter has worked the best for me.
The fragrance of the litter, although strong, compliments the air fresheners/candles/diffusers i currently use in rooms adjacent to my litter boxes which are mainly lilac, lavender, or orchid variations.
As another review mentions, clumps to have a tendencies to cement themselves to the bottom and edges of litter pans, however when edges loosened by scooper, the initial clump is solid enough to discard of easily.
As far as the cost, when shopping at petco in conjunction with sales on this product (as it is found exclusively there in my town) as well as taking advantage of manufacturer coupons you can easily offset the moderate-to-high price."

Terrible Odor Control

"I made the mistake of buying this litter when I got a $3 off coupon for it. I tried it the other day and even though I still have some left over I will be throwing it away. I have tried about 3-4 different kinds of litter and this has been the absolute worst. It clumps OK, but the odor is terrible. For some reason, when my cats do their business, it gets mixed up with whatever is in the litter and the smell is unbearable. It doesn't smell like urine or poo -- just some horrible other thing. I will go back to my Fresh Step right away and think twice about trying anything different again."

"I have three cats, so the two litterboxes I have are used very frequently. I am also a very loyal Arm & Hammer user, but this Odor Alert was awful! The little blue crystals were tracked all over the room that the boxes are in and managed to stain the carpet in various spots. It also did not clump nearly as well as some of their other litters and did nothing to mask the smell three cats can create! I have found that the Arm & Hammer Naturals litter is the best!!"

"its the best litter ive ever used. it clumps well, covers all the smell up and has a sand lie texture so after scooping the clumps up with a scooper and siting it a bit you can put it right down the toilet, no mess and no plumbing worries!"

Strong Artificial Scent

"If you're looking to get rid of all odor, this is not the product for you. We found the strong artificial scent of the product really sickly and it permeated beyond the room the litter box is in. I'll stick with the Unscented Arm and Hammer litter. This one made more odor than it helped to prevent.
If you don't mind strong artificial "air freshener"-type scents, you may like this product."

"I love this litter. I dont get the chance to clean out the box everyday because of my work hours. And it works great for the smell and clumps good. Only problem is it sticks to the side of the box. But i do use the litter pan liners. It works so good after i clean the box my cat just has to get in and do her business lol."

"its works pur-fect!
even my cats enjoy it, they dont rush away after going to the bathroom.
its so easy to scoop out. plus it holds it tight, and the color changing makes it easier for me to see what all needs to be scooped out!

"I had 3 cats when I started using this. I originally got it because the odor detection crystals. Because the clumps change color it makes it easier to train children how to care for animals. Now I buy it because it is one of the few litters that cuts down on the odor (the litter box is in my bed room). Down side is the blue crystals are a little on the larger side so if you have a sifting litter box, they have a tendency to clog it making you use a scoop, so a regular box is needed. Also, if wet litter makes contact with the side of the box, it has a tendency to stick like glue to it... over all, excellent product."

"This litter was terrible! I did not see any color changing. It doesn't clump at all. While scooping the clumps fell apart and it was horrible. Also, the smell is very prominent, all I could smell was the litter the whole time I had it in the litter box! Very disappointed!"

"I have used this product since it came out. I have had cats for 30 years and have tried a number of different litters. This is the best litter I have ever tried. It clupms well and ther is no odor. It does cost a little more, but the benefits of the product more than make up for it."

"I'm highly allergic to any clay litter but I thought I would give this a try. I had a back injury so it made it as far as my trunk. Over the next few days, my car began to smell pleasantly like banana laffy taffy. Finally my back was better and I took it in the house. Don't worry, it doesn't smell like that when it comes out of the box. It is pleasant and distinctive, and it didn't bother my allergies at all. The clumps held together very well. It is a little more expensive than other clay litters but I think the benefits are worth it. I'm almost tempted to keep a box in the trunk and one in the house, just for the pleasant odor. haha, but seriously, if you are looking for a good litter, give this a try."
