"I bought this filter because I wanted to create a waterfall feature for my red-earred slider turtle. It was easy to put together, but it's not as the description states, the lid does not lock into position. It looks great in my 35 gallon flat back hexago tank and keeps the water moving around. However, they could've done a better job with the filter. It seems the filter is too small to accomodate the amount of debris a turtle gives. What I find myself doing is changing or just rinsing off the fliters every week. Once the filters are filled, the unit will not fill, thus will not overflow into the tank. It's also a little difficult to clean once it get really dirty, the bottom stays filled with algae and debris, I finding putting water in and shaking it around to be helpful. Other than that, I love it! My turtle sometimes tries to climb it too! Great accessory to any tank."
