"I did take off one star, though, because the item has a regular squeaker, not some special pheasant-sounding squeaker as promised in the item description. Good toy otherwise!"

Fun but NOT Durable

"My 7 month old Weimy pup enjoyed this for a whole day. He loved the honking sound it made (which he figured out how to disengage within 2 hours). He had fun carrying this toy around the house, but when he tried to get my Labrador to play tug with him, both dogs ended up tearing the head off and removing most of the stuffing pretty quickly. If the toy could have been enjoyed without the tugging, it would probably still be one of my pup's favorites."

"this pheasant is my dogs favorite toy! she has tons and tons of toys and she never pays as much attention to them complared to this one. she has one outside and one inside. through the year we've gotten her new ones because she never puts it down! my god tears everything apart, i mean everything, but not this toy. she adores it! this is the best toy and i highly recommend it. your pet will thank you for it."

"This is a wonderful toy and is a life saver! My dogs are like super power chewers! They were like so surprized when they heard the toy honk! They never heard any thing like it before and their reaction was haliarious! It was balls of fun for them. The price is my only problem; I really couldn't imagine buying one toy for ten bucks, but at least my dogs LOVED it."

"AKC Products have stood up longer than their counterparts in workmanship and overall quality. Our dogs love them. With two dogs--they use this toy in a tug-o-war. Our Boston just loves to lay and chew on it. Our chewer (Butters) attempts to get the "honker" out. In time-she is able to bite through and break the honker--sometimes even digging it out. Please keep in mind--this is an extreme power chewer. Our Boston (Megatron) just loves chewing and playing with it. He seems to love stuffed toys best. It is the AKC toys though that tend to last a bit longer than the norm. Highly recommended. Best yet---get em while they're on sale."

"My dog has many toys, but the honking pheasant is by far her favorite. It has endured many hours of rough play, and is holding up very well.
The honking pheasant makes a crackling sound when bitten by the dog, and the "honker" is a exciting noise for a playful dog, like I have. I would definetly recommend the pheasant to anyone with an energetic dog that loves to play. It is sturdy and colorful--a great toy."

"This pheasant toy is very soft, with a flexible tail that flaps when the dog shakes it. The toy also crackles when bitten, and has a loud "honker" that my dog loves to squeeze.
I found this pheasant toy to be quite durable, as we have had it for a while, and it is standing up well to lots of rough playing.
I would recommend this honking toy to anyone with a playful dog."

"My dog enjoys this toy in more than one way. She'll shack it, toss it in the air, rolls around and chews on it, then takes it for a nap. This product strongly resembles the real thing. Nice and soft, with durable stitching."

"When we got our puppy at 9 weeks the breeder gave us this toy because the puppy already loved it and carried it around everywhere. 8 months later it is still his favorite toy. He has tons of toys but always picks the pheasant. Just the other day it breathed it's last breath and our puppy has been so mopey ever since. I just bought him a new one and he loves it just as much as the old one!"

"I purchased this toy more than a year ago when my little Shi Tzu was only a few months old. It was almost as big as she was. It has held up to many hours of her tugging and pulling and is her favourite toy. It is very well made. I don't think you or your dog would be dissapointed with this toy."

"My Shih Tzue Boo loves his pheasant. I bought him one here at home in Canada and he played with it so much he ripped it apart so we had to throw it out. He sat beside the garbage for half an hour afterwards just staring at it. I looked everywhere and couldn't find anything the same. I was in the US for holidays and stopped at a Chinese Buffet in Bangor. After we finished eating we noticed a PET.Co right next door. I went in and found the pheasant. I bought 2. He was very excited, he still plays rough with it but the first one seems to be lasting longer. It must be LOVE."
