I have four cats. They are all fascinated and love the fountain. It's easy to disassemble and clean. Very quiet. Happy cats = happy mom.

I have owned this fountain for five years and it does exactly what it is designed to do. My cats all drink a lot more water therefore staying hydrated as they should since I do feed dry food. I do agree that it can be a pain to clean but using a dish brush or bottlle brush makes it a lot easier. My only complaint is that I wish it came with a larger tank. I have five cats and go through a tank every other day but they love it and get the water intake they need so refilling the tank is a small price to pay.

Since my cats love to drink from the faucet and bathtub, they really enjoy drinking from the fountain. They will actually seek it out for their water instead of drinking from other standing water bowls in the house.
So if you get a Drinkwell product, definitely get the platinum version. It is a little more pricey, but it is SO much easier to clean and assemble. I have had it only for a week, but just the ease of putting it together and the ease of getting the pump in and out makes a huge difference from Drinkwell's lower end products.

We got this because we have a cat that is prone to urinary tract problems. It's a great idea because it keeps water circulating, however it's a pain to clean (too many parts and too many nooks and crannies that harbor bacteria. The cat doesn't drink out of it anyway (which no one can help!).
We keep it because our pug likes to drink out of it, but we got a different one with a simpler design for the cats. It's easier for us to keep clean and the cats do seem to like it, but... In true cat style they prefer to drink out of the pitcher that we keep next to it to keep it filled... Go figure! :)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We have 3 cats and 3 ankle biters , they all love this thing. This is my second one. They all seem to drink more water. Don't replace filter as often as they say , just back flush to clean to clean it out.

I purchased this product for my four foster kittens who kept knocking over their water dish. So far, the fountain has been great! The kitties love drinking out of the stream of water as it falls out of the fountain. The large reservoir is also perfect! I would recommend this product.

The product is really nice. My cat loves it, but you have to clean it thoroughly weekly and replace filters weekly that aren't cheap.

We have 2 Platinum fountains for our 2 Corgis and 5 cats & they are the best! All of our fur children love the fountains and my husband & I love the fact that we are giving them clean, filtered water.

My cats were constantly spitting food in their water bowls making their water and the bowls all gunky requiring constant refilling and washing. I was tired of it and went in search of an alternative. I found this product and never looked back. It's awesome.
The fountain comes with a pump, water reservoir, and charcoal filters to keep an almost endless supply of fresh running water for my cats. With evaporation and regular drinking the reservoir lasts about a week which is perfect since that's how often it needs to be cleaned.
It does require washing at least once a week, but all the parts are dish washer safe so I usually put it in a light load of dishes on the weekends and it comes out squeaky clean.
This has made my life so much easier since I'm not constantly worried about cleaning water bowls and my cats are happier because they love running water that is fresh and clean.

This drinking fountain seems to overcome the many drawbacks of other fountains we have tried. So far it works perfectly. With its waterfall, It seems makes our pets want to drink. Looks like it will be easy to clean and maintain.

I bought one of these a couple of years ago, thinking it was the same brand as my other one--a 10-yr-old [other brand] that still works great. The relatively new Drinkwell piece of garbage has started to LEAK out the bottom, around the pump housing, ruining the laminate floor.below. The [other brand] has no such opening--an infinitely superior design.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great fountain...a tad noisy but if reservoir is readjusted, it gets quiet again. Biggest complaint is cleaning...it's really a pain. Pieces never line up easily and it really needs to be taken apart to clean the pet hair out of it. I clean it less often than I should because of how annoying it is to do it.

This pet fountain is much better than the one I had before. However, over the past few weeks that I have had it, the motor sound has gotten louder. I suppose that is to be expected. Still, I have decided to keep it because at least one of my cats doesn't mind.

My 10 month old kitten who is picky and only drinks from my drinking glass absolutely LOVES this product! It took a few minutes and some sniffing around, but she warmed up to it and she loves it now!

My cat likes his water fresh poured and prefers to drink it as it is being poured into his dish, right from the faucet or bottle. He does not like stale water even sitting for a few hours. I felt like he was not drinking enough water. This is puuuuurfect! He drinks several times a day now and more water at each drink. We are both very happy.
