"Yes this water bottle is chew proof, but my bunnies have a very hard time getting water out of it, maybe because of the double ball bearings."

SUPER PET CHEW PROOF WATER BOTTLE
|
Date: January 19, 2008
|
"We have purchased from Petco many of this item for use on the outside of our Coast Condo Cages. We love them and our darling little ones love them too. The bottle appears to be thick see-through glass; and the sipper tube is just the right length to fit through the cages. The holder set which comes with this bottle so far has assured a tight secure fit. We change the water daily but sometimes one needs to do this more often, and the bottle has a little ducky which floats atop the water level for easy-to-see refill needs. After filling the bottle, we tap the sipper end to check for water bubbles floating upward to assure the bottle is in good working condition. We and our little darlings definitely give this bottle a 5 Paw rating and recommend this bottle."

Please don't purchase this bottle.
|
Date: December 27, 2007

"My mother purchased this bottle for my spunky chinchilla while I was away from college. I was quite impressed that he hadn't managed to knock it down--not once in 3 whole months! Once I returned home however, and went to change the water, I was sorely disappointed. The bottle had this black, gooey crud on it around the seal. This was hidden mostly by the metal shield on the plastic part, but once I removed it I was quite disgusted. I tried cleaning it, only to find that it has returned. I have heard from many people that this is no isolated incident. I believe that the seal on the bottle isn't complete, and the water reacts with the metal and causes the problem. While my chinchilla has suffered no ill effects, and no one I have heard from has either, I would recommend seriously considering a different bottle."

Don't waste your money!

"I bought one of the 12 oz bottles for my two ferrets and was excited about the glass bottle since they have chewewd through several plastic bottles. I put it in the cage and noticed about a day and a half later that the water level hadn't budged! I was horrified and felt super guilty! My poor babies were thirsty as heck!! You would think that for the price these bottles would work, but I bought a second one thinking I had just had bad luckj with the first, but the second was also defective. I wonder how they can still have these bottles on the market!?!?"

Don't Waste Your $$

"The only way I got this bottle to work was by placing it horizontally on the top of my hamster's wire cage. Thankfully, it's a 2-storey cage, and my hammie has access. I'm going to buy a plastic bottle to replace this one and rig it so that my hamster will not be able to chew thru it."

Worst Water Bottle Ever
|
Date: June 16, 2007
|
"I got this water bottle because I heard that water out of glass bottles tasted better than plastic, so I bought this one. I had to take my first one back because it STOPPED dispensing water. My next one did the same thing. It just dispenses the water initially in the spout and after that you have to actually shake the bottle to get more to come out. Please, don't put your animals through this."

No Water?? Doesn't Work!
|
Date: June 12, 2007
|
"I purchase two glass bottles, one 6oz and one 24oz glass bottle. My 6oz bottle is working for now! My 24oz has never worked properly. I just wish I didn't put the receipt in my shredder. I would have returned it. I have to keep hitting the top of the 24oz bottles to get water to drip from the bottom of the bottle! I have to check it ever day to make sure it's working correctly... I would rather it leak water then not produce any water at all. All the other bottles I purchased for my bird he ate right through the plastic bottles. I thought, what a good idea - Hard Glass, it would have been nice if it worked though."

Didn't Work Well
|
Date: May 5, 2007

"I could never get it work for my two rats. It would eventually stop providing water, I'd have to tap the top of it a few times but then it'd just seal up again. My rats ended up not trying it anymore and just drink from a bowl."
