"Please don't decide not to buy this gate because of the reviews complaining about the bumpers not screwing in or the holes not being the right size for the bumpers. The bumpers are not SUPPOSED to screw in.
The bumper is a nut and bolt assembly. The bolt has a flat head that touches the wall or door frame. The nut is the round part you see in the picture, and has ridging to make it easier to turn. Where the nut is sitting on the bolt determines the tension, not where the whole assembly is on the wooden frame. The round part always touches the wooden frame, and the flat part always touches the wall. The distance between the two can be from nothing to a few inches, based on how far you turn the nut.
True, there are no instructions in the package. However, as someone who is happily using 3 of these gates with a 60 pound dog as well as a 12 pound dog, I felt that I should clear the record here. The "issues" that some people have pointed out are due to not knowing how to use the product properly."
