"My 5 year old cat is a little chubby and can sometimes get constipated. My vet said to lessen her dry food and increase high protein wet food. He said to avoid the cerial types of wet food and suggested Fancy Feast - anything in gravy - especially organ meats (liver and giblets). I only put out dry food for her now when I know I'll be away for awhile and she loves the wet food. She has been doing very well constipation wise."
