These Are A Lifesaver
|
Date: July 23, 2008

"I have a miniature Dachshund and an extra high mattress, 17" drop, plus the box spring and frame height, so there is no way my little guy could get up and down off the bed. I could lift him on the bed of course, but when he wanted off and he was in a hurry he would jump, which with Dachshunds could be devastating to their backs, which are always in danger of injury. So, I bought these steps and we just love them!! It only took him once to show him how to use them and now he's hooked. He uses them everytime he wants up and more importantly when he wants down! I recommend these to anyone with a small dog who enjoys their company while lying in bed. They sure set my mind at ease!"

Great for smaller dogs...
|
Date: April 28, 2008
|
"My sweet mutt is a medium sized dog, about 35-40 lbs. and a little under knee height. I thought these steps would be useable, but she struggles to climb up them because the steps are very narrow, shallow and flimsy under her weight. The entire unit is made of hollow plastic with carpet panels on the steps. Fine for small dogs, but my Maxx does not like them at all. In fact, she jumps over them to get on the bed, which defeats the whole purpose of having them. Not only that, but they're terribly unattractive and quite large."

"we have 3 pomeranians and 3 peki-pom pups and these steps are wonderful. The oldest and the youngest poms could not get on the bed when we bought a new and higher bed set. This has saved us from the nightly wimpering.(oh my) Also the pups are only 1 to 3 lbs and will stay very small. They taught themselves how to get up on the bed (just to gain access to the tissue box), what a sight greeted me. I only realized they were up there when they started whining because they did not know how to get back down.....that took another 10 minutes and that was mastered too and they are only 12 weeks old.......now i think i need a larger bed.......lol"

Dogs take time getting used to these steps
|
Date: April 10, 2008

"I have a 6 mos old Min Pin and a standard-height bed (spring box & mattress w/pad sitting on a bed frame, approx. 28” high). My puppy is only 7” tall (she won’t be much bigger as adult) so she definitely needed help getting on and off the bed. It took me a while to find these steps – Petco & other pet stores have a variety of pet steps but most of them are no more than 15” high, which is simply too low. You can also order fancy, carpet-covered steps online, but they are VERY pricey ($200-$300). These steps are under $40 and they are 20” high. Word of caution: when I first brought these steps home, my dog was absolutely terrified of them (she seemed to think they were some kind of “dog trap” or “dog-eating monster”). I tried to bribe her into using them by putting treats on every step etc. but she just refused to use them. After about 10 days I was ready to take them back to the store when she finally, cautiously used them for the first time. The trick seems to be leaving the dog and the steps alone with each other – trying to bribe or force the dog into using them won’t work. My Min Pin is still learning to use them – if she runs up or down to fast, she’s likely to slip & fall, but she’s definitely learning how to navigate the steps by herself (again, any help from me seemed to be causing more harm than good). Now instead of whining and crying at the foot of my bed, my puppy is ecstatic to be able to get on and off the bed all by herself (Min Pins are well known for their independent spirit!)"

Not for Larger Dogs
|
Date: February 25, 2008

"This item is definately not for larger dogs. It is unstable (top heavy) with steps that are narrow and short. It has a tendency to slide out when the dog is on it. This may be good for smaller dogs but did not work for ours. Solidly built but to light weight. I returned the item."

"My maltese is 7 lbs. My bed has always been a challenge for Nate to jump into and out of; however, once I changed out the carpet and put in wood flooring in my bedroom, I was concerned about Nate getting hurt. I saw these steps online and purchased them. After less than an hour of training, Nate got the hang of it. Now, I don't have to worry about him hurting himself/and or wearing out his knees...plus I don't have to pick him up every time he jumps at the side of my bed...especially in the middle of the night."

"My poodle mix was having problems getting up and down on my bed. I bought this step system. It took a bit of training to get him to go up, but he would simply jump off the bed. One day last week he decided to walk down the step to. This is sturdy and stable. Great product. Highly recommended."

great stairs

"I have a 3lb chichuahua who is 8 months old who sleeps with me and I worry about her jumping off my bed. These stairs are really high so all she has to do is step right up to the bed with no jumping. It took some treat for her get the idea, now she's a pro. I really recommend these stairs. I've had others but they are not tall enough and the dogs have to jump up still even with the stair. this is great!!"

"As beds are higher now days, I had a need for a higher set of steps. My dog weights 11 lbs. She sleeps with me and loves to do to my beach house too. I have been taking my steps with me. It's getting old even as light as they are. So I'm ordering another set to leave at the beach. For a small dog you CAN'T go wrong with these!"

Love the Stairs! w/ Nightlight
|
Date: July 24, 2007
|
"To make sure my little doggy could see the steps in the dark, I put a night light under them so that they "glow" in the dark. It works out great! To train the dog to use the steps I put little treats on each level. Now she runs up and down the steps with no problem. This is a good, sturdy product! I think the company ought to connect a night light to it."

Great purchase for our Yorkie
|
Date: June 18, 2007
|
"We purchased this product a few months ago. Our Yorkie was having difficulty jumping on the bed. At first, when we brought the steps home he did not want to use them. We had to teach him how to climb them and block his way down from the bed. Once he learned how to use them it is now the only way he gets on the bed. The only complaint I would have is that they are kind of bulky and take up a lot of room...but they are light weight and easy to move out of the way, if needed."

Wonderful Product
|
Date: December 26, 2006
|
"This product is wonderful. I have a Boston Terrier that will be 7 in Jan. and a Dachshund that is 4. My boston had a hard time getting on the bed and also jumping off too. She is getting older and was getting hard on her. My Dachshund I was afraid he would hurt his back jumping off the bed so I bought these stairs and "WOW" I was impressed. At first they were scared to use them and took me a short time to train them to use them but now they use them on there on. If you have carpet in your bedroom it helps to keep the stairs from moving and they stay in place. This is an wonderful item. I am very happy I bought it."
