"I have a number of pets who need litter: cats, bunnies, guinea pigs, hedgehog and dwarf hamster. I think this litter is best for small rodents such as hamsters and gerbils. I don't like it as much for guinea pigs because of personal preference regarding feces. I prefer a darker litter such as Carefresh for guinea pigs because it doesn't show feces as much."

"I bought this for the first time when it was on sale. They claim "no dust", but in reality, it is very dusty. My little guy had dust particles on him all the time, especially after I clean his cage and the litter hasn't been packed down yet. It does absorb well and control ordor well. I used to use Care Fresh. The Total Comfort package says it covers a lot more area than it actually does. It's not packed as compactly as the Care Fresh. Overall, it's OK, but I will continue to look for something else."

"I got this for my robo [monster]. Of course i made sure it didnt have cedar [which causes skin iratations for robos and dwarves] [im not sure about other kinds] and it didnt. It smells but not bad. It just smells like bedding and a hamster. Monster doesnt care as long as its not cedar or if he just doesnt like it. If hes satisfied im satisfied [unless theres an aroma]."

"I have yet to find such great bedding as this. I have used this on all my pets and would not trust anything else. It absorbs odor and makes 'messes' barely noticable which makes our weekly cleanup easy and clean. I recommend this fine product to anyone who has pets."

"I was using CareFresh but this stuff was much softer. The only problem is it doesn't move around at all so all of the droppings stay on top, making them very clear to see. It said that it had 40 liters, but it only covered what I normaly use 20 liters of carefresh on. Over all it's ok."

"I purchased this product for my 5 hamsters. I liked it because it gives them the extra fluff that cotton balls give them. My hamsters love making beds out of cotton balls and this gives them the litter and cotton ball feel at the same time"

"I bought this product because it was on sale and I had never tried it before. It started to smell after only three days and it was very hard for me to tell how much she had done her business so I know if its time to clean. I have to honestly say that I will probably not buy it again. It is however worth the money. Overall it is an okay product."

"Was a regular Carefresh user, but tried this because of price. It was dusty and my little mice did not burrow into it. and it stuck to side of glass when it got wet. I am going back to Carefresh when this bag is gone."

"I usually purchase recycled paper bedding for my cage my mother bought Total Comfort and my guinea pig loves it.It is so soft it is like running your hand through cotton fiber.I put my guinea pig on it and he popcorned with excitement.Total Comfort is the best bedding in the world not only does it have good absorbcency but it is really soft for your pet."

"I have used all kinds of wood shavings and our guinea pigs kicked it all around and it stank in no time. I tried CareFree and it was like lumps of wet toilet paper that had been dried out. I finally tried Total Comfort and it doesn't fly around, it is very soft, and eliminates most odor up to a week long. When I clean the cage, it slides right out making cage cleaning a snap compared to when I was using wood shavings. It is a little dusty, contrary to packaging claims, but our guinea pigs have no problem with it and they love lying in it."

"There is no doubt that this product is dusty but it is the best I have used so far to pack down on the bottom of my hamster's cage. I do add one of the other brands on top for my hamster to take into her home and make a bed out of it. This product is really just a good ground covering to help minimize odors and to also use in the little "kitty litter" containers for hamsters. I really only notice the dust when scooping it out of the bag and when cleaning the cage.
I would recommend for a small animal like a hamster for sure!"

"this bedding is horribly dusty!! before placing my guinea pig back into her cage i had to wipe up ALL the dust that was sticking to the side..i had like a handful of dust! I do NOT recommend this product to ANYONE!! this bedding is the worst out there!"

"This bedding is much dustier than other similar brands. I noticed that after I tried this brand, my rabbit began having severe sneezing fits. Our vet suggested we switch brands and my rabbit hasn't had a problem since. We now use Care Fresh."

"It said it is dust free but it is exremely dusty. So for my Dwarf Campbell's Russian Hamster, Scamp, I had to pound it so all the dust would come out before use. But my hamster loves to make nest out of it to sleep in and there is not any dust after I pound it with just normal use. Overall: Kaytee butters up this product too much and it is just average."
