"I got a new Hamster because my old one died :(. We also got this cage.
Setting up: The setting up was very simple, and I don't know why everyone is saying it wasn't.
Lookout tower: Fantastic! My hamster can not get out, (he is a dwarf) and we have lots of fun petting him and fedding him up there.
Wheel: One word: BAD! This is the almost part. The first time he got up there, he could not run, and he got stuck. We had to take him out and dump him into the cage. Now, he wouldn't go back up there. So we had to put the wheel from the old cage. I did not like the wheel.
Over all, this cage is great. The wheel wasn't a big problem, since the other one was a huge save. The cage is very big, so There is room for toys, Snacks, and the wheel.
I suggest this cage but only if you have a backup wheel. I can't gaurenete this will happen, but to be on the safe side, you should.
Basicly, my hamster loves the cage. Yours will too!"

"Dear Readers,this cage is big, But hard to clean, I wouldn't suggest it to a friend. You have a hassle taking apart the wheel to cleen the cage. My hamster Hervay loves it because there is a lot of room, but it's annoying to have to take apart the cage and clean it, and then have a hard time to put it back together again. Last, it takes up so much bedding. I cleaned my cage 2 times and the bedding was gone. But let me bring it on home, My hamster loves it but I only just like it."

"This cage looks really cool, but it's such a pain that it's not worth messing with. Our hamster takes food into the wheel and uses for a potty too! It's disgusting and takes forever to take apart and clean. There are seeds, food, droppings, and "rain" all over the desk, wall, floor...anything within a 4 foot radius of the cage. We've had it for 5 days and I've taken it apart every day! It takes about a half hour to take the wheel apart, wash it, dry it, and put it all back together. And that's just the wheel! Good luck getting the bottom of the look out tower off. Not even 20 minutes later, the hamster has food in the wheel again and is making more noise than a "small animal" is supposed to make. Back to square one. We are buying a new cage!"

"I got this cage for christmas, for my black and white hamster, cowbell. She loved this cage. There is just a few things that needed to be fixed. The turn about wheel broke and is way to loud, second the water bottle dosn't work. but all I had to really do is block off the wheel, get her a new one and get a new water bottle.Overall I think this cage is great, and my hamster loves it. I dont think there has ever been a better cage for cowbell."

"This is an AWESOME Cage! I Love it and so Does My Hamster,Panda. She Loves Taking her Bedding up to her Wheel and Sleeping in there.
The Obsevation Tower Is My Favorite part.
The Only Problem i had is the Wheel Is Somewhat Squeeky.
The Food Bowl Is Small,But great For One Hamster.
What Can i say? Its a GREAT Buy.

"Looks great but very impractical. The wheel is probably the worst paart. Our hamster also uses it for his personal bathroom so when he runs in it it is loud. All the droppings rattle around in it and then comes the "rain". It makes everything sticky and smelly. Our hamster also got out of the top latch and escaped. It is a nightmare to clean. Nothing comes apart easy!I woud pass on the dazzle!"

"i am wondering why this product is getting so many bad reviews.. anyway i bought this cage a week ago for my new dwarf hamster and she loves it! she loves the little circle tower on the top left side of the picture :] also it's a pretty big cage if i get another dwarf i don't have to worry about buying another cage! also i don't see why people are saying the water bottle leaks/ doesn't work? it says in the instructions that when you first fill it it will drip for 30 seconds and then you put it in the cage! BAM :]
this cage is rockin i reccomend it to any first time owners, just make sure you get a silent wheel, because it doesnt come with a wheel..and we all hate sqeaky cheap wheels hmmm?"

"I got this cage for my gerbil. She loves it! She runs around and uses the wheel all of the time. There is plenty of space for her to excercise. I would recommend this to anyone with a gerbil or two. There is plenty of room for two if you have them."

"Bottom Line: DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK!
WHY?
1. Easy escape: My daughter's hamster learned how to push the stupid latch door with her hind feet. After using plastic string on bot sides of the gate, she gnawed off the strings and escaped again! After using a small luggage lock on the gate, she squeezed herself through a small opening and escaped again.
Remember: They're rodents!!!! They can squeeze through small holes
Tonight, I had to use packing tape in both horizontal and vertical directions (like I was sealing a package). Let's see how long this'll last. My daughter no longer wants the thing, because she's terrified it'll get out (she's 9 yrs old).
2. Like the other reviewers stated, the hamsters like to use the wheel as a bathroom. I like the other reviewer who gave the analogy of a "rain stick" because it sure sounds like one when the wheel is loudly spinning - only, it's not a tranquil sound.
It's sooo noisy that the cage has been outside of her bedroom door ever since we bought the thing this past August. We're going to take it back to the pet store.
So, once you get past the glitter and the glam, you'll see that the cage is absolutely worthless. Save your money on this and go back to the old school style of putting the hamster in a small fish tank."

"My daughter received this as a gift and we thought it would be so wonderful for her hamster! He was so big he couldn't get through the tubes. So we decided to get some gerbils and finally moved them in and they would not come out of the wheel! They pottied in it so much(and VERY quickly) in one days time you could hear the droppings rattle around like a rain stick as they ran through it. Little gerbil droppings were coming thru the vent holes and it stunk! I am sad to say it is of the poorest designs that the wheel does not come easily apart for cleaning! I should just be able to open it up and dump the droppings out and rinse the inside with soap and water all quick and easy like but that is NOT the case with this.
Also upon assembaly I had a hard time figuring out how the wheel fit together to the cage. The caps to prevent entrance or escape is a great idea but my daughter lost the important one. I am thinking of cleaning this out and using it as a playground, where they only get scheduled visits so they don't have time to muck it up so much! LOL But I would never recommend this to anybody!"

"I bought this cage for our hamster, Doodles. We've always liked Crittertrail habitats, so we bought this for Doodles.
Setting it up, I could tell the plastic was lacking quality. It seemed really cheaply made. Our hamster has already chewed the tower, so now it's currently broken. He also escaped a few times, since the plastic is so poorly made.
The wheel is hard to clean. Doodles used it to go to the bathroom, and it created a really big mess. The same thing happend with the tower.
Doodles loves his cage, but we'll be getting a new one soon. It's a cool cage for the children, but it's hard for me.
I wouldn't buy this cage again, and I also don't recommend it. We were very dissatisfied with this cage."

"The tower was good at first. Then my hamster escaped 4 times by pushing upwards. The door was not sturdy. I had to tie it shut. The top wheel piece broke. My hamster pooped and got seeds and bedding in the wheel. and it is hard to clean out. I do not recomend this product to anyone"

Love how it looks, but looks are not everything

"My daughter picked out her gerbil and this cage for her 9th birthday. The cage was difficult to assemble but seemed great once we had it done. The wheel is nice and large and mostly silent. Our gerbil did decide to use the wheel for it's bathroom and this made a big mess. We solved that by removing it for a while.
My problems with the cage are the lack of quality. The slide latches that hold on the top part of the cage broke right away. The first one broke the first time we removed the lid to clean the cage and the second a few weeks later. We continued to use the cage without them. Now the tunnels on the sides do not snap on and stay any longer. It is as if the plastic is weakened and bent/stretched. We have only had the cage 3 months and already have to replace it. The gerbil can now escape and we have it against a wall until we can find a new cage.
The size of this cage is great as are the accessories, the plastic is just not tough enough. The gerbil chewed the plastic food dish down to nothing in a week and the water bottle leaks. I am very disappointed since my daughter even named her gerbil Dazzle after the cage name she liked it so much."

"This cage cage was recommended to me. It is a neat cage for the kids, however that big wheel is very messy. The hamster loves to take everything into it and when they run it all come flying out. Not so fun for the adult. Otherwise it is a great cage."
