New Use for ProCollar
Date: October 21, 2009
"Having trouble with a small dog escaping the back yard through the split rail or cast iron fence rails. Well this is your answer.
Our small dog can no longer get his head and body through the rails and therefore saves us finding him in the next yard visiting their dogs.
Pro collar works like a charm.

Better than Bite Not
Date: October 2, 2009
"I purchased this collar for my Boston. Tried the new Bite Not collars as well and found with the compact structure o fmy dogs the Bite Not collars could not be fitted comfortably and this Pro-Collar can."

"Although this seems like a great idea it doesn't even come close to keeping my dog away from his back legs. It kept him from his front if that is what you are trying to do but like almost all other products for the hindquarters it did not keep him from chewing/reaching that area. I was dissapointed."

Thank God we found this collar!
Date: August 31, 2009
"I have a 5.5 lbs female chihuahua that was spayed and sent home with the plastic e collar. It litterally terrified her. She wouldnt eat or move with it on. I went to the store and bought the black "comfy collar" but it was even worse, making her choke. I then tried cutting a baby onsie, but she walked right out of that. Finally we tried the pro collar and it is wonderful. She doesn't like getting it on, but once it is there it doesn't crush her ears, or restrict her vision. She is comfortable and happy, eating, and recovering. It would have been a MISERABLE two weeks with out this ring. She wore the size small. I highly recommend it for chihuahuas!"

So so product...bad for stitches on legs.
Date: August 19, 2009
"I bought this for my cat who had stitches on her back leg thinking it would be SO much better than the plastic cone the vet gave her since she had a lot of trouble eating and simply maneuvering her way around my apartment. Not even 2 minutes after I put it on she was licking her stitches with complete ease. I gave this product 3 paws because I think it would work if your pet had stitches on his or her back. But don't waste your money if the stitches are on front or back legs or belly, too easy to get to. The design really is nice though. It would definitely allow your pet to eat and drink, which you can't really say for the regular plastic cones."

This ProCollar rocks it!
Date: August 18, 2009
"Absolutely fantastic. I have a very large Belgian and not only was she humiliated wearing the cone-collar, but she managed to devour 2 units once she figured out how to remove or break them. The inflatable not only is sooooooo veddy much more comfortable, my dog no longer suffers the disorientaing affects the Cone generates. She not only can sleep, eat, jump, run, play, eliminate with grace and ease, but she does not even hesitate (or runaway) when i need to remove/put it back on or adjust it for her. It was/is worth every penny at least for use with longer-average snouted dogs to protect their backside-underbelly injuries. Additionally....my dog was recovering from bad tail and hindquarter wounds (requiring many stitches) during a heat streak (high 90s and 100% humidity) and she did not overheat as she did with the cone use. Go get one for your dog supply cabinet...you will be glad you did."

Procollar
Date: August 18, 2009
"I own a ProCollar for my Golden Retriever and have used it over and over since he is prone to hot spots.
I love this collar. It is so much more comfortable than the hard lampshade collars, especially down here in our Florida heat. He never minds wearing the collar. As a matter of fact, he gets so used to it in the summer when the hot spots are the worst, that if I take it off at night, he whines until I put it back on!

Re: One collar not enough
Date: August 6, 2009
"My husband made a 4-hour round trip yesterday to our nearest Petco and I had him by TWO just in case one wasn't enough. We have a 6 mo. old Sheltie who was just neutered. In a matter of two minutes he was making contact with his sutures with just one collar, so I put the second on. He looks just as uncomfortable with two collars as he did with the elizabethan collar. If I had it to do over again, we would have stuck it out for the next week with the dreadful elizabethan collar and saved our money & time of driving to get an inflatable e-collar. This would work fantastic for dogs that have VERY short snouts, but not for any dog that is agile and has a snout at all. Our Sheltie has what I think is a shorter snout in a Sheltie. Hope this helps!"

A Great Product
Date: August 4, 2009
"I purchased this collar from Petco after my Cairn managed to free herself from a traditional E collar about 5 times. The first time was right after surgery. The vet team was amazed at how quick she was to escape. The Procollar was amazing. She could eat, sleep, and have a normal life. I think the main issue with traditional E collars is that they restrict vision and funnel sound into the ears which must be very stressful. The Procollar does not work well when used to protect the front legs but does great on preventing a dog from reaching it's back end. I didn't use a collar. I just put the Procollar on my dog and fastened the Velcro strap until it was snug but not too tight. Not once did my dog try to free herself from her inflatable collar."

Fantastic product
Date: July 20, 2009
"For my American Eskimo (Spitz), this was an exceptional alternative to the traditional E-Collar. It is easy to put on, is very comfortable for the dog - he can eat, sleep using it as a head rest. And it doesn't bruise you so badly like the plastic lampshade. As a pet care professional, this will be in my first aid kit from now on."

Tried it for my rabbit
Date: July 10, 2009
"I purchased this for my bunny after her spay surgery. A small was too big, should of gotten an extra small.
You need a collar to attach this to your pet which it doesn't include.
My rabbit was able to get out of it probable because she doesn't have a chin and neck like dogs/cats.
Great, comfortable products!!! Thank goodness Petco has a GREAT return policy.

Excellent product!
Date: July 3, 2009
"Our puppy, Cooper, was neutered yesterday. The gigantic e-collar the vet gave us drove him crazy and made him angry and scared because he couldn't see anything around him. He's had the ProCollar on for a few hours now and he's MUCH happier! He's not able to reach his stitches, but he's able to see what's going on around him. This has calmed him down considerably. I would definitely recommend this to a friend!"

lifesaver
Date: June 29, 2009
"the procollar made my life and my dog's life so much easier. Chloe had a dual surgery, and we were to keep an E-collar on her for 2+ weeks to avoid licking and infecting her wounds. The E-collar made her miserable, and my family miserable as well. She whined constantly, could not eat and drink on her own, and could not get comfortable. After 1 day, I was looking for other options. My vet recommended the procollar, I immediatly went to my petstore and bought 2. After reading mixed reviews, I feared 1 collar would not be thick enough to prevent her from reaching her wounds. Luckily, I have only had to use one. Chloe is so much more comfortable. She can eat and drink. She can rest on the collar like a pillow. She can bump into things without getting stuck. THe collar is very sturdy and comfortable. 2 weeks with this will be a breeze. If you try this item, and your dog can still reach wounds, I would recommend using 2. It is definately worth it, not to have to use the E-collar. I have had no problems with this item deflating, and my dog has not even attempted to remove it. This product is a lifesaver. Chloe and I are very happy."

great prodcut...however
Date: June 29, 2009
"I have a 60 pound pit/hound mix who had sutures on the underside of his front right paw.
He's a rescue dog and very sensitive. The plastic e-collar scared him. He wouldn't move.
This e-collar was fantastic! He could walk around, he could see, sleep comfortably.
The problem was, he was able to reach his front paw to lick.
I think if he'd had abdominal surgery, it would have worked well.
He was able to lick his hind paws. Which wasn't a problem, but it might be if thats the area you want them to avoid licking.
I thought the quality was great. He really seemed to like it. However, I had to exchange it for the soft sided e-collar.

Maybe works for other dogs but NOT my Boxer
Date: June 22, 2009
"I bought this item because I felt so bad for my dog who was sent home after being neutered with a huge E-Collar. He was constantly bumping into walls, doors, ME- it was noisy and he would wake me up in the middle of the night to let me know how miserable he was. Then, after one day of having this thing on, he figured out how to get it off and chewed his E-Collar to bits! It was only $2.00 from the clinic I went to, so I went to Petco to get a replacement. I saw this ProCollar as a very comfortable and interesting alternative. My dog was comfortable indeed and didn't seem to mind this at all- however, I woke up in the middle of the night to him licking his wound! I couldn't believe it! This did NOTHING at all to protect his incision as he could easily reach it. I'm returning this today. Perhaps this works for other dogs who have surgery on their leg, neck, face, etc. But if you are getting your dog neutered this will do NOTHING to protect that wound!"

Worked Great!
Date: June 19, 2009
"This collar worked terrific, it is so much better than the big cone. Word of caution-when putting dog in crate while walking other dog, put plastic cone back on!! My dog got so mad that I was walking my other dog that she shredded the collar! I was shocked! I didn't think she could or would for that matter, but she did. Lesson learned. I still think the collar is great!"

Excellent for certain dogs
Date: June 12, 2009
"I was torn on whether or not to buy this after reading mixed reviews. I figured I'd give it a try then just return it if it didn't work. Well it worked perfectly. I can see how dogs with long necks and noses that are flexible could get around this easily, however, if you have a short necked, short nosed dog it is fabulous! We are using it on a 17lb pomeranian who's a little chubby. She had her tail amputated due to a tumor and this works great. It's comfy, she can eat, drink and play with toys. Thumbs Up!"

Pro Collar
Date: June 9, 2009
"This product is WONDERFUL. My 11 month old Rottweiler ate a rock and had to have it surgically removed. He came home with that nasty lamp shade collar from the vet, I immediately bought the pro collar and what a great product. My dog didn't mind it at all, he was able to eat and drink with no problem. He had to adjust his head for sleeping a little, but didn't seem to mind the collar at all. I absolutely 100% recommend this collar for your pet. It's a little pricey, but well worth it. After 6 days he managed to bite a little hole in the collar, I sent the company an e-mail and they immediately sent me a replacement tube within 3 days at no cost. That is great customer service!"

Excellent Product
Date: June 9, 2009
"I read many reviews good and bad. Obviously, Procollar has listened as the air valve is one way now and it tucks back into the balloon. We followed the instructions, made sure her base collar was fitted correctly then added the ProCollar.
We got a size Small for our 4 month old Bishon Freize for her Spay and a hernia operation. The Collar worked wonderfully and seemed much better tolerated than the e-collar on our previous dogs. No obstruction from water and food.
She loves to jump face first at her older sister, this collar is GREAT for that as I am sure the traditional e-collar would be hurting her sister terribly. I highly reccomend ProCollar - HIGHLY!.
(When the sales person tells you they get lots of these returned, ask them how many do not get returned (they don't know - I didn't take mine back). Love it."

Not the Greatest
Date: April 18, 2009
"My dog had a hot spot on the side of his face that he kept scratching, so I had to use a traditional cone. He was miserable and was afraid to move. I then tried this pillow and what a difference! I got a happy dog back. He could eat and drink and sleep normally. I *almost* came here to write a glowing review, but am glad I waited.
In only a week and a half, the pillow somehow got punctured and is now useless. Not only that, but he was able to twist around quite easily to lick his boy parts. This didn't matter to me, as his wound was on his face, but this pillow would NOT be good if he had had neutering or abdominal surgery. Or leg surgery! My guy is not particularly agile, so if your dog is the "bendy" sort, I imagine that this pillow would not prevent him from licking most anywhere.
This product served my purpose (while it lasted...) but I wouldn't recommend it, especially since it's on the pricey side."
