"After finding this product online, we went to 2 seperate stores to buy it. In both stores, the price was about twice what it was on-line. It seems that petco cannot even compete with itself! The cage is great, but if you find a good price on-line, forget about the stores. Buy it from the on-line store and save yourself some money."

Great for new puppies

"This was the first crate we got for our new puppy Rose. It took some coaxing and a few nights laying with her next to the crate and slowly moving her sleeping puppy body into the crate to get her use to it. Don't force the puppy in the crate and don't use it for punishment. This is meant to be a safe space for puppy and later for doggy to rest and be secure and safe."

"This is not a good crate for a large-breed dog that is determined to get out. I was initially impressed with the size, but my german shepherd puppy was able to bust the whole door frame out within minutes when he was only 40 lbs. I think it would be better to pay a little more money and get something stronger."

"I bought this kennel (XL) for my black lab he's about 120 this cage is a lot bigger than I expected. It was easy to put together and it arrived very quick. He has a ton of room to move around and can lay comfortable on his side. I have even been able to fit a large pet bed in there with him. My other dog is envious and will get in ther with him. I highly recommend"

Can't withstand a determined dog

"I bought the extra-large (110lb) crate for my 53 pound boxer. (He doesn't like smaller ones.) He was in it a total of only FIVE times before he managed to break the door! One of the vertical bars broke off at the bottom and was poking back into the cage, and several of the smaller ones were pulled apart. I am extremely unhappy at the durability of this crate."

Bad choice for large breeds

"I purchased the largest size for our large breed dog, bad idea. We also have the medium size for our other dog, and it is structurally sound. The size does not accommodate for the added weight of the top of the cage, and it bows really bad. Plus our dog was able to push right through where the front meets the side. We had to bend the hooks where the sides meet, and with just a little force she pushed and was able to bust the welds. The tray cracked after only a few uses as well. Really thin plastic. Like I said the other size we have seems to be made of better stuff. This is poorly made which is a shame because the other sizes seem to hold up really well. What a waste of money, and still no solution to our problem."

After the Puppy Broke Out...
Flimsy and Annoying

"I previously owned the 60 lb version of this crate and had few complaints. My German Shepherd puppy fit in there from 4 months old to 6 months old before having to upgrade to the 90 lb crate.
I cannot stress enough how flimsy the 90 lb crate is. My 55 lb, 9 month old puppy can break the front and back doors down and charge right out without any trouble. This is NOT SECURE for a large breed dog who is intent on getting out.
The 90 lb crate is poorly designed for large breed dogs--avoid it at all costs!!"

"We have really enjoyed using this crate! Starting with a puppy, the divider was extremely helpful in helping him learn to be crated and not having accidents in his crate. It has grown beautifully with him as he is growing into a LARGE german shepherd adult. It is easily moved, easy to clean and has held up nicely. Well made and roomy!"

"I was very satisfied with this product. Not only was the shipping 2 days faster than it said, it was also quick to set up. After opening the box it took no longer than a couple of minutes before my dog was inside sniffing around. Instructions are not needed for assembly. The divider is going to help as my puppy grows. The price was very affordable and the lowest for the size I needed. GREAT PRODUCT!"

"Item Number: 938912 Item Name: PETCO ProValu 1-Door Dog Crate (36"L x 23"W x 25"H) The crate has just arrived. It took me less than one minute to open the carton, extract crate from carton and fully assemble the crate. AWESOME, NO-BRAINER ASSEMBLY.....didn't need the included assembly instructions at all. I bought the "up to 70lb dog" size as I have a 53 lb Vizsla and a new Vizsla puppy; this crate is for the puppy so the divider will be used and adjusted to accommodate the puppy's growth. The construction of this crate is more than adequate for a Vizsla; I couldn't comment on/advise someone with a "destructo-dog". My opinion: impressive design; good-looking as far as crates go; easily assembled; easily folded; and, with the carry handle, easy transported from room-to-room. I'm a petite woman and I have no problem lifting the empty crate (with tray) at all. If I have a problem with the pup sliding open the latches, I'll use small carabiners to stop that - an easy, inexpensive, convenient solution. From date of order placement to day of delivery, time elapse was 5 days. It would have been 4 days except that the carrier had to scan and re-issue the shipping label since the original was damaged. Internet Special price was also attractive and beat the competitions' prices. Coupon for a free crate training DVD was included (customer pays postage). I am VERY pleased with the purchase of this crate."

"We bought this crate for our 10 week old australian shepherd (Large size up to 70 pounds)....I love the divider panel...It really makes his crate training so much easier...To have a crate that grows with our puppy is saving us hundreds of dollars.... The construction is sturdy enough to withstand the escape attempts of his 1-year old sister 'on the outside' yet it is lightweight and easy to transport for travel. Highly recommended!"

"We've had our crate for ~6 months now. The baby girls share a crate and they love it. It's their special place to be alone. We travel with our dogs frequently, so a portable crate is a must. This is easy to set up, yet sturdy. We've had no problems with it."

"I purchased this 2 1/2 years ago for my son's adopted pooch to use for training her from the shelter. Once she was trained, I used it for my puppy... that was 2 years ago. To this day she STILL uses it. It's sturdy (we have the 18x24x19 size) and has held up well now for both dogs... and I even have a kid that likes to crawl inside... standing up to HIM and his destructive tendencies speaks volumes for this product!"

"I really wanted to leave a positive review about this crate, (the one that is supposed to be made for dogs up to 110 lbs.), but I can't. I owned the crate for a week before my 6 month old presa canario broke out of the crate and totally collapsed it. This is very cheaply made, and was busted up by a puppy well below the 110lb threshold on the box. I returned the crate, and coughed up the money to purchase another brand. Cheap isn't the way to go for crates. If you have a large breed stay away from this crate. Again, if you have a large breed pup/dog stay away from this crate."

"I bought this crate at a Petco employee's recommendation (I was buying another kind but he used this one for his adult dog and it was also on sale). It's decent overall, easy to clean and use, very useful puppy divider that's been helpful for crate training.
But it took my 8 week old puppy (lab/blue heeler mix) less than 2 weeks to figure out how to unlock it from inside. And once she figured it out once, it was all over. It's too easy for inquisitive dogs to slide the latches open from the inside. I now have to keep a heavy duty steel keychain hook on the latch to keep her locked in. Also unwieldy to carry up and down stairs, but I'm sure this is an issue for all large wire crates. I need to buy another one to keep upstairs to save my poor back."

What I came home too..
Very Poor Quality

"My 7 1/2 month old puppy is in this cage for literally 15mins, while my mom picks me up from work. When I get home the whole front of the cage is off! He doesnt just get the front door open he gets the whole front of the cage is off..... Would not recomend and I'm very disappointed! For $70 I could have gotten better quality."
