Trying to feed my Shih Tzu

"I have been told that this breed of dog is the hardest to feed because of their "picky" eating habits. I believe it to be true. The cousin of the sales clerk at Petco Store who recommended this product to me feeds hers only McDonald's hamburgers. This has been the only dry dog food "Chew'ie" continues to eat. However, I fool her and make her think her feeding is a treat. Won't eat out of her bowl, only if left next to me at meal time on the floor or on my bed. Good luck!"

Not just for Shih Tzus

"My daughter has a Pekingese, believed to be one of the breeds from which the Shih Tzu originated. He, too, is a fussy eater with a sensitive stomach and allergies. I was looking for something more suited to his particular needs, and found this. He loves it! We haven't been using it long enough to see clear results, but just seeing him enjoy his dinner is enough."

"my little shitzu was itching so bad , she would itch so much at night that it would keep us awake , the vet and groomer had me try different foods, they did not help. my girlfriend told me to try royal canin for shitzu, it took about 8 weeks but the itch is gone, her coat is shinier and she just seems a happier little dog. thank you so much , I am convinced and will stick with royal canin !!"

Try It--Your Dog Will Love It!

"I usually don't write these things, but I've just got to share how great this stuff really is. I thought my dog loved his prior food, but it must have tasted like mud compared to how he gobbles this stuff down. He's a bit young for the listed age, but I'm hoping for a shiney coat, so I had to try it. So far, I'm glad I did b/c if I need to revert to the Indoor Puppy type, I'm sure he'll love that to. If nothing else, just try this stuff to make sure your dog is eating something he really loves."

"I have a 4 year old Shih Tzu, we started feeding him with Eukunuba he did not like because it was so dry he would not eat it.We have also bought Purina,pedigree,iams.But no it did not work, until we asked a Petco associate and told us the right one.The price does not matter but our Dog is a Happy Dog."

"I have a 1 & 1/2 yr old male Shih Tzu, and an 11 month old female Shih Tzu. After only a week or so on this food, my little girls breath is much better, she has gained some weight which she needed. My male has lost a couple of lbs. which he needed also. It is fantastic. They both love it."

"Our Shih Tzu is 4 years old and has been eating the Iams toy dog food with no problem until we thought we would treat her with wet food. We then had trouble getting her back to the dry. I thought I would try a new dry food so I bought the new Science Diet Natural as well as the regular with no luck. We had recently brought home new kittens that were being fed the Royal Canin kitten food and our dog loved their food so much so when I was in Petco and saw they had Royal Canin for Shih Tzu's I decided to give it a try. She is as excited to eat that as the wet food. I think we have found a winner!"

Miracle food for my ShihTzu's

"I have a 2.5 year old 5 lb.shih tzu and a 6 month old shih tzu. I have had to cook for my 2 yr old as she would not eat dog food. I have taken more food back to Petco that she would not eat. My Vet recommended Royal Canin for my new puppy, so, i thought i would try this brand for the older one too. Well, let me tell you, she loves it. She cleans her bowl each meal. We are so happy that we found this for her and will never change again. Thank you Royal Canin for making such good food and so good for them. Just look at their coats."

"As you probably know - Shih Tzus are picky eaters. This was our third round with dog food. We tried Nutro and Science Diet with no luck. Finally - someone recommended Royal Cain. Coco loves it. She gets so excited to eat. As a hint, we bought the bag for fussy eaters as well and mixed them together. I think it adds more flavor."

"I have a 10 month old Shitzu and we've been through 3 different dog foods, she was never that excited about any of them, she would pick all day, never really eating all of it at one time. Now since we are on Royal canine, she gobbles up the food and wants more!!! CRAZY!!! but good crazy.. I feel bad that it took me this long to figure out the food thing, but we are sticking with it"
